Previously, in May 2017, through reconnaissance work, PC47 discovered a drug trafficking ring with a large quantity from Laos to Nghe An. This ring was led by Pham Van Hung (born in 1970, residing in Phu Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district). PC47 established project 617H to fight and destroy it. On September 26, the detectives received information that Hung was preparing to take a large "shipment" from Laos to Vietnam through the small border area.
In the early morning of October 1, on National Highway 7A, passing through Nam Son Commune, Do Luong District, the Task Force caught Pham Van Tung (born in 1990, residing in Phu Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District) red-handed while illegally transporting drugs. The seized evidence included 20 heroin cakes, 1kg of crystal meth, 12,000 synthetic drug pills, 20,000 USD, 1 Honda SH motorbike, and 2 mobile phones.
At the time of arrest, Tung pulled out a hidden knife to fight back against the police but was subdued. About 500 meters away, detectives arrested Pham Van Hung while he was trying to escape.

On the same day, the Task Force urgently arrested Lo Van Sao (born in 1983, residing in Ban Met, Luc Da commune, Con Cuong district). Sao was an important link, assigned to directly receive goods from Lao subjects and then hand them over to Hung. Searching Sao's house, the police discovered 70,000 USD and 300 million VND in cash. This was the amount of money Hung gave Sao to pay for the goods.
It is known that this is the project that has seized the largest amount of drugs in the past 3 years, led by PC47.
