On the afternoon of October 21, the Provincial Police Department held an announcement ceremony for the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on rewarding the 816R Project Team for its outstanding achievements in investigating and solving a case of environmental law violations in Tuong Duong.

Previously, through professional measures, the provincial police discovered that recently, in Tuong Duong district, a number of local people entered the protective forest area of Tuong Duong district to cut down forests on a large scale, sawed precious wood and sold it to local timber traders.
During the operation, the subjects took turns arranging guards, using weapons ready to fight back against the authorities if discovered and captured.
Faced with the above situation, the provincial police leadership directed the Environmental Police Department to establish Project 816R to fight. Despite extremely difficult travel conditions, rain, and rugged mountainous terrain, with high determination and determination to fight crime to the end, the Project Board decided to solve the case.
At around 4:00 p.m. on October 11, in the Protective Forest area of Na Cang village, Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district, the Environmental Police Department mobilized forces to surround and arrest two subjects, Oc Van Ty (born in 1985), residing in Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district, and Lo Van Bach (born in 1990), residing in Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district, who were using chainsaws to illegally cut down forest trees, seizing 112 pieces of wood from groups II to IV (mainly Tau mat, Doi, Vu...), 2 chainsaws, 1 crowbar, 1 flintlock gun.

Expanding the investigation, the Environmental Police Department arrested Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1984), residing in Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district, the ringleader who hired the above subjects to cut down forests and saw wood.
The provincial police are continuing to direct the Environmental Police Department and related professional units to coordinate with functional agencies and the Tuong Duong district government to conduct a crime scene investigation, consolidate documents and evidence to strictly handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
