Nghe An Radio Station was established in 1956 in difficult material conditions. After nearly 70 years of construction and development, Nghe An Radio and Television Station has made great strides, becoming a key press agency, a trusted voice of the Party Committee, Government and People in the province. The Station constantly innovates, keeps up with modern journalism trends, improves the quality of content and form of expression. Notably, in 2024, the Station was honored to be ranked 2nd in the top 10 outstanding press agencies nationwide in the radio and television sector.

Through this, it contributes to widely promoting the image of Nghe An to Nghe An people living far away from home, overseas Vietnamese as well as international friends. This is information of special value, contributing to bringing the image of "Nghe An land and people" beyond local borders, expanding connections, creating favorable conditions to attract domestic and foreign investors and tourists to learn, cooperate and develop in Nghe An.
Analyzing the context of press activities in the current era, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee pointed out the new opportunities and challenges for revolutionary press, especially in the multi-platform media environment with the strong development of social networks, artificial intelligence and digital technology.

According to him, the rapid development of science, technology and social networks is profoundly changing the way the public accesses information. Meanwhile, the competition in speed and the level of information dissemination between mainstream press and social networks is increasingly fierce. However, in the era of digital transformation, no matter how modern machines and technology are, people, with their creative minds, critical thinking and sense of responsibility, are still the decisive factor. Technology is only a supporting tool, it cannot replace the specificity, professional qualities, diligence and accuracy of true journalists.
Therefore, in the information competition with social networks, more than ever, the Radio needs to continue to affirm its role as an official and reliable source of information, while at the same time, innovating its content and form of expression to produce good journalistic works, with sharp perspectives, depth and value in orienting public opinion.

The 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is also the time approaching a special historical milestone for the State administrative apparatus and the Nghe An press industry. Starting from July 1, 2025, Nghe An province will officially operate a 2-level local government model. At the same time, the province's two main press agencies, Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station, will merge into a new agency: Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, marking an important transformation of local press in the new era.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh emphasized that this merger is not simply a mechanical merger, but the leaders of the two agencies need to coordinate closely to implement the merger plan according to the Project approved by competent authorities.
In the new organizational model, Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station must promote the strengths, capabilities, professional capacity and political courage of each reporter, editor and staff from the two previous agencies; build a unified press agency with worthy development; maintain the role of an official information channel, accompanying the Party Committee, Government and People, at the same time, perform well the function of social criticism, effectively combating false and toxic information; for the common development of the province.
On the same afternoon, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh and the delegation visited and congratulated the VNA Resident Office in Nghe An.
With a long history, VNA has gone through nearly 80 years of development and growth. In 1961, VNA Resident Office in Nghe An was established, always accompanying the development of the province through many periods.

Over the years, the VNA’s team of reporters in Nghe An has closely followed the local reality, promptly, objectively and comprehensively reflecting the socio-economic situation, national defense and security, Party building and the political system in the locality. The agency’s press products not only commend outstanding collectives, individuals and models but also frankly reflect on shortcomings and problems, contributing to orienting public opinion and promoting social progress.

Affirming the revolutionary tradition of the press in general and VNA in particular, he hoped that the VNA Resident Office in Nghe An would continue to fulfill its assigned tasks, maintain its role as an official information channel, and accompany the Party Committee, government and people of the province in the cause of construction and development; especially in the current period when the entire provincial political system is streamlining its organizational structure and preparing to operate a two-level local government model.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh sent congratulations to all staff, reporters and editors of the VNA Resident Office in Nghe An on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
