Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai visited and congratulated schools on Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
On the morning of November 19, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025), Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Vo Trong Hai visited and congratulated Vinh Medical University and Dang Thai Mai Secondary School. Accompanying him were leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities.
Vinh Medical University is a public university under the Provincial People's Committee, currently has 14 faculties, departments, centers and 1 affiliated unit, the School Hospital.
The staff consists of nearly 500 officers and employees (including permanent and contract lecturers), including 7 professors and associate professors, and 46 PhDs. The school is training 5 postgraduate majors; 5 undergraduate majors; and simultaneously opens 30-40 continuing education classes each year for 1,500-2,000 students.
The student population remains stable at 4,000 - 5,000 people. In 2024, the school's enrollment reached 101.6% of the plan with 925 students admitted. The rate of students graduating on time reached over 95%, of which over 70% were good and excellent.
Scientific research is a bright spot of the school with 41 grassroots-level topics, 1 provincial-level topic accepted, 10 international publications in Scopus/ISI journals and 150 articles published in domestic journals...
Vinh Medical University is aiming to develop into a prestigious training institution in the Central region and the whole country in the health sector.
Talking with the leaders and teaching staff, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai highly appreciated the role of Vinh Medical University; expressed his joy at the strong development in many aspects: Admissions, scientific research, international cooperation. These results are convincing evidence for the school's quality of training and reputation.
Appreciating the development strategy, he emphasized that the most important foundation for the school's sustainable development is the spirit of internal solidarity. To do so, all activities must be open and transparent, so that the staff and lecturers can truly trust the leadership; at the same time, create a favorable environment for scientists to confidently devote themselves and focus on research and teaching.
In terms of expertise, sharing practical experience, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the school continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint of closely linking theory with practice in training.
He suggested that Vinh Medical University expand cooperation with prestigious medical universities in the country, inviting leading experts to participate in teaching. This approach not only helps to promote the experience advantage of the existing teaching staff but also creates conditions for the school to absorb more modern training methods from outside.
Along with the innovation of teaching content is the increase of practice and internship for students at medical facilities in the province, thereby giving them the ability to immediately catch up with work after graduation.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the school to effectively implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; at the same time, it is necessary to continue expanding and improving the quality of medical training for Laos.
He sent his best wishes for health and happiness to the teaching staff, hoping that the school would continue to uphold its tradition and improve the quality of training so that each generation of students, upon graduating, would be able to fulfill their duty of taking care of people's health.
Also on the morning of November 19, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai visited and congratulated Dang Thai Mai Secondary School in Truong Vinh Ward; one of the key educational institutions and advanced schools following the international integration trend of Nghe An.
Currently, the school has 34 classes with 1,276 students, along with a team of 65 cadres, teachers and employees; 100% of teachers are qualified and above standard. Dang Thai Mai Secondary School is considered the cradle of training high-quality human resources for Vinh city (old) and specialized high schools in and outside the province.
The school's outstanding achievements are demonstrated in both aspects: General and Advanced. The rate of students passing the public high school entrance exam is always 100%, of which more than 50% are admitted to specialized high schools.
The results of the excellent student exams every year rank first in the province. The school’s students also make their mark in national and international competitions. Many former students from this school later continue to shine in national, continental and world competitions.
The school also implements advanced educational programs to comprehensively develop students. In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the school continued to receive the Emulation Flag from the Provincial People's Committee, a mark recognizing the persistent efforts of generations of staff, teachers and students.

At Vinh Medical University and Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the consistent viewpoint of the Party and State to always pay attention to and prioritize the development of the fields of education and health.
Through the discussion, he requested that schools closely coordinate with departments and branches to synthesize recommendations and proposals to send to the Provincial People's Committee Office, especially those related to facilities and human resources.
