Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
On the morning of July 27, commemorating the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the provincial delegation came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
The delegation included leaders of departments and branches: Provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Transport, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; leaders of Do Luong and Anh Son districts.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and the delegation came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site (My Son Commune, Do Luong District).

During the resistance war against America, Truong Bon was a key traffic point on the strategic route to support the southern battlefield, and was also the place where the American invaders bombed and shelled fiercely.
From 1964 to 1968, Truong Bon suffered nearly 19,000 bombs of all kinds and tens of thousands of missiles; from June to October 1968 alone, nearly 2,700 bombs of all kinds were dropped on this land.

During those years, despite the rain of bombs, cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, transport workers, and militiamen stayed on the road day and night, making efforts to defuse bombs, repair roads, clear routes, and connect the cross-Vietnam traffic artery from the great rear of the socialist North to the great frontline battlefield of the South.
Here, 1,240 cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, militia and people heroically sacrificed their lives.

A typical example is the heroic sacrifice of 13 youth volunteers of Squad 2 - "Steel Squad" of Company 317, Team 65, Nghe An Youth Volunteers General Team on October 31, 1968.
Offering a basket of fresh flowers and incense sticks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and the delegation expressed their respect, admiration and deep gratitude to the sisters and brothers - the resilient and indomitable children who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones, dedicating their youth to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Next, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the delegation came to offer flowers, incense, and commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery (Anh Son district).

In a solemn atmosphere, with the morality of "drinking water, remember its source", Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and the delegation respectfully bowed to express their respect and infinite gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble international revolutionary cause.

The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1976 with an area of 6.8 hectares. This is the largest cemetery that gathers the graves of martyrs who are Vietnamese officers, volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos.
The cemetery is currently the resting place of 10,825 martyrs from 47 provinces and cities across the country who died on the battlefield in Laos.

Since its construction, the cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 remains of martyrs who died on the battlefield in Laos, including nearly 7,000 graves with unknown names and hometowns.
This is also the only cemetery in Vietnam named after two countries and two peoples, Vietnam and Laos, and is a symbol of the loyal solidarity of the two brotherly peoples.
