On the afternoon of August 22, a working delegation of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) led by President Tran Quoc Tuan had a meeting with the Nghe An Football Federation (NAFF). The meeting focused on reporting on local football activities, discussing advantages and disadvantages, as well as directions for future cooperation and development.

In nearly 2 years since its establishment, NAFF has left many positive marks. With the direction and support of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Home Affairs and the VFF, the federation has coordinated with businesses and individuals to organize many grassroots and professional tournaments. Some notable tournaments include: Nghe An 7-a-side Football Championship, Youth - Children's Football Tournament, Nghe An U23 Tournament and Spring Volunteer Football Tournament.

NAFF also accompanies Song Lam Nghe An Club and the Supporters Association to spread the love of football widely in the community. In November 2024, the federation officially became a member of VFF, considered an important milestone in the development journey.

However, difficulties still exist. That is, the NAFF headquarters is temporarily used at Stand B, Vinh Stadium, which has seriously degraded, lacks equipment, while many members of the Executive Committee have to hold concurrent positions, and have limited time. The operating budget mainly depends on socialization and support from VFF, making it difficult to implement long-term plans.

At the meeting, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of NAFF. Although newly established and with limited resources, the federation has been active, organizing many tournaments, gathering members from many different fields such as state management, press, business... contributing to bringing valuable resources and experience to local football.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that Nghe An has a tradition and a solid foundation for youth training, which is a core factor in developing the mass football movement. VFF encourages NAFF to boldly innovate its thinking, find effective directions, and at the same time, strengthen connections with businesses and receive more attention from local authorities.

“For any difficulties, Nghe An Football Federation can boldly send proposals, VFF is always ready to support. If there is a specific plan, we will accompany,” the VFF President affirmed.

Notably, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also expressed his hope to develop women's football right in Nghe An. According to him, this is a land rich in potential as it has discovered and trained many talented faces, contributing to the national team. In the context that Vietnamese women's football is receiving support from UEFA, VFF hopes to build a "satellite" to train women's football in Nghe An, considering this a strategic foundation to develop the next generation in the future.

The meeting ended with a commitment from VFF and great expectations for a new direction for Nghe An football, especially in the field of women's football.
