Gold shop owner chases “customer” who snatched gold and ran away
Le Trong Duc parked his motorbike on the street with the engine running and went into a gold shop to buy a bracelet. Taking advantage of the seller's inattention, Duc put the bracelet on his wrist and drove away.
At 4:10 p.m. on January 12, the owner of the Vang La Bao gold shop (Thong Nhat Street, Quarter 3, Kinh Dinh Ward, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan) and many people arrested Le Trong Duc (31 years old, residing in Lien Huong Town, Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan) and handed him over to the police because he bought gold without paying and then drove away.
Mr. Huynh Bao Em, owner of the Vang La Bao gold shop, reenacted the scene of holding Duc's shirt. |
At that time, two women also came to buy gold, so I went inside to get a calendar to give them. When I came out, I saw Duc wearing a bracelet on his wrist and then riding away on his motorbike. I ran after him, grabbed Duc's shirt and pulled him back, but the motorbike fell on top of me. I shouted "robbery, robbery" and the people came to arrest Duc.
That same evening, Lieutenant Colonel Ha Cong Son, deputy chief of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City Police, said Duc confessed that he pretended to be a customer at Vang La Bao shop to "buy" a 5-tael gold bracelet and then waited for the shop owner to be negligent before speeding away.
"The investigation agency is consolidating the case file to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Duc for robbery," said Mr. Son./.
