Wood factory owner defrauded 8 billion VND

Hai Phong police have just arrested a particularly dangerous wanted suspect for "Fraudulent appropriation of property" with an amount of nearly 8 billion VND.

The especially dangerous wanted subject is Nguyen Thanh Van (born in 1973, permanent residence number 264, Phu Thuong Doan street, Dong Hai 1 ward, Hai An district, Hai Phong).

According to the investigation agency's documents, in 2010, during the process of opening a wood workshop, Nguyen Thanh Van borrowed nearly 8 billion VND from many people.

Due to business losses and gambling addiction, Van lost his ability to pay.

When the creditors came to collect the debt, the subject fled his residence. On April 10, 2012, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai An District, Hai Phong issued a wanted notice for the subject for the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

During the verification process, the working group learned that after fleeing to the Central Highlands provinces, the subject returned to his hometown in Hai Hau, Nam Dinh in early 2015 to continue opening a wood workshop.

Conducting a review of the subject's relationships in Truc Ninh district, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province, focusing on newly opened wood workshops in the area, the working group discovered that the wood workshop opened by Mr. Van and Ms. Lua's family since 2016 had related information that matched the subject's information.

Using professional measures, determining exactly where Nguyen Thanh Van was hiding, the task force monitored the wood workshop and discovered and arrested Nguyen Thanh Van.

Currently, the authorities are completing the dossier to handle the subject according to the provisions of law./.
