Preparing to establish the North Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - It is expected that in 2019, the North Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute will come into operation.
On the afternoon of January 11, a working delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Tien - Permanent Deputy Minister of Health had a working session with the Provincial People's Committee on the establishment of the Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute under the Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute.
Receiving and working with the delegation was comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; also attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches.

The establishment of the Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute (North Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute) under the Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute is a step to complete the forensic psychiatric organization system from the Central to the regions; to fully, conveniently and promptly meet the procedural activities in the process of resolving cases and the people's needs for appraisal work for all localities across the country.
According to the project, the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry in Nghe An is a public service unit with legal status, its own seal and account in accordance with the law. The Institute is under the state management and professional and technical guidance of the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, Ministry of Health.

The North Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute will be located in Vinh City, Nghe An. The functions and tasks of the institute include: Conducting forensic psychiatric examinations in accordance with the provisions of procedural law and the Law on Judicial Examination; conducting scientific research on forensic psychiatry; participating in postgraduate training in forensic psychiatry in accordance with the spirit of the law on education; examining and treating common mental illnesses upon request...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong highly appreciated the establishment of the North Central Forensic Psychiatric Institute in Nghe An province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Ministry of Health to soon complete the project and send it to the Provincial People's Committee so that the Provincial People's Committee can submit it to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for approval.

On behalf of the working group, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Viet Tien stated: For quick and effective implementation, the Ministry of Health will establish a working group to coordinate with Nghe An province to implement the project. In the immediate future, the North Central Forensic Psychiatry Sub-Institute will operate at Nghe An Psychiatric Hospital./.
