Prepare well the conditions to successfully organize the Provincial Veterans Association Congress
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 14, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a working session to listen to and give opinions on the plan to organize the 6th Provincial War Veterans Association Congress, term 2017 - 2022.
Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired the meeting.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Minh - Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association said that as of June 15, 2017, the grassroots congresses of communes, wards, towns and the grassroots Veterans Association of Block 487 had completed their congresses. The organization of the grassroots congresses ensured good content and personnel work. As for the district-level Veterans Association Congresses, as of July 13, 2017, the districts, cities and towns had completed their congresses. The number of elected members of the District Veterans Association Executive Committee was 474/474 comrades, all with high confidence rates.
Regarding the preparation work for the 6th Provincial Veterans Association Congress, term 2017 - 2022, under the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the theme and tasks of the congress were agreed upon and subcommittees were established to carry out assigned tasks.
Regarding personnel work, the personnel plan predicts that the number of Executive Committee members of the Provincial Veterans Association is 32 comrades, the number of Standing Committee members is 7 comrades, the Inspection Committee and Head of the Inspection Committee are 5 comrades, and the number of delegates attending the 6th National Veterans Association Congress, term 2017 - 2022 is 13 comrades.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Committees gave their opinions on the preparation for the Provincial Veterans Association Congress. Accordingly, the opinions focused on the program, goals, directions, personnel plans, etc. of the congress. The use of information technology to support the vote counting process to be fast, accurate, and safe was also mentioned.

Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh basically agreed with the content of the plan to organize the Provincial Veterans Association Congress. However, regarding the personnel plan, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee and the Provincial Veterans Association to review the congress' personnel process to ensure strictness and accuracy.
Regarding the discussion at the congress, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh suggested increasing the time for delegates to give their opinions, especially on current issues. The political report at the congress should be shortened and clarify the role of the Veterans Association in the socio-economic development movement and the role of social supervision and criticism. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the Provincial Veterans Association needs to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and organizations to prepare the best conditions to successfully organize the congress.
The Provincial Veterans Association Congress is scheduled to be held for 1.5 days, starting from the afternoon of September 20, 2017 to September 21, 2017.
