Crawling into the sewer to take shelter from the rain, 1 person was swept away by flood

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (September 17), information from the People's Committee of Ky Son district (Nghe An) said that in the area, a woman was swept away and died by floodwaters.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on September 16, when Kha Bua Thi (born in 1953) and his wife Cut Thi Hanh (born in 1964), residing in Son Thanh village, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, were returning home from work in the fields when it started to rain heavily and windy. The couple immediately crawled into a sewer pipe located on National Highway 7A to avoid the rain.

However, due to the flood water from upstream, along with rocks and soil, the couple was swept away. Ms. Hanh was hit so hard that she died immediately. Mr. Thi, who was injured, was taken to the emergency room by local people.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, Nghe An province has experienced thunderstorms and strong winds. In mountainous areas, there is a high risk of flash floods and landslides, so people need to be cautious and vigilant.
