The final round of Charming Vietnamese Businesswomen had its electricity cut off because of illegal competition.
Vung Tau City authorities cut off the electricity in the middle of the final round of the Vietnamese Business Charm contest. The reason was confirmed to be that the contest had not been licensed.
The Vietnamese Business Charm Contest is organized by the Vietnamese Star Club. According to the organizers, the contest aims to honor the noble values of modern Vietnamese women, creating a new, healthy playground for all Vietnamese businesswomen both at home and abroad who are operating in many fields and industries. This is the fourth time the contest has been organized.

Before the contest, according to information from the contestants, each participant must pay the Organizing Committee 15 million VND to cover the costs of the activities. The contestants will go through the following rounds: Preliminary round - casting, Semi-final round - Talent - Charity activities will take place in Vung Tau city. The final ranking will be broadcast live on VTV9 and BRT at 2:00 p.m. on July 1, 2018 at Pullman Hotel - Vung Tau city.

However, before the final round took place, a representative of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Radio Station (BRT) confirmed that there was absolutely no live broadcast of the program "Vietnamese Business Charm" on BRT. The BRT representative also said that he had contacted his colleagues at VTV9 and VTV9 also said that there was no live broadcast of this contest.
BRT reporters went to the venue of the Final and filmed many posters advertising the Charming Vietnamese Businesswoman contest, which clearly stated that they would be broadcast on BRT and VTV9. It was not until the reporters questioned the contest organizers that the posters were moved elsewhere.

According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the above contest has not been licensed and as soon as the Final Round of the contest took place on the afternoon of July 1, the Inspector of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province stepped in to check, verify the legality and draw up a record to stop the contest. However, the contest still took place while the functional sector was working and it was not until the representative of the department requested the electricity sector to intervene and cut off the electricity directly that the contest was stopped.
