The Miss Universe Vietnam final has been postponed to 2018.

The organizers proactively postponed the schedule while awaiting the results of an inspection regarding the organization of the semi-finals despite the stormy weather in Khanh Hoa.

The Miss Universe Vietnam final night, originally scheduled for January 6, 2018, has been postponed.It's about a month later than originally planned (December 2nd).Currently, the contestants have been given three weeks of rest at home by the organizers, before resuming their new schedule in Nha Trang at the end of December.

The organizers explained that the schedule change was to ensure better preparation.

Previously, the semi-final of the Miss Universe Vietnam competition took place on the evening of November 4th, right after Typhoon No. 12 swept through Khanh Hoa province.The decision to hold the competition night met with public opposition.On November 7th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to postpone the competition until the aftermath of Typhoon Damrey was resolved. The organizing committee also had to submit a report on holding the semi-final night without the approval of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

During the postponement of the competition, the contestants continued to participate in charitable activities, visiting areas directly affected by storms and floods in Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces. The reality TV show "I Am Miss Universe Vietnam" continued to air weekly as scheduled.
