Join hands to build new rural areas in Nghia Dan

On the day Lien Tay hamlet, Nghia Son commune (Nghia Dan district) held the inauguration ceremony, putting into use the hamlet cultural house, the whole hamlet's people attended with joy and excitement as if participating in a festival. Because this is a project containing great values ​​from the financial contributions and joint efforts of the hamlet's people.

Secretary of the Lien Tay hamlet Party cell, comrade Nguyen Huu Nguyen said: “The hamlet’s cultural house project meets the criteria for advanced new rural areas, built from the policy of the Party Committee, the mobilization of organizations and the contribution of each person in the hamlet. Immediately after the policy was issued and a meeting was held to disseminate the content, the people highly agreed with the contribution of 1.2 million VND/person. The hamlet executive committee divided the collection into many times so that people could proactively balance their spending. Before the construction, the hamlet people contributed 895 million VND and some people continued to contribute.”

With the investment of the commune and district, after one year of construction, the Lien Tay hamlet cultural house project has been completed with a construction area of ​​264m2.², capacity 200 seats, total construction cost over 2.2 billion VND. People in the hamlet also voluntarily contributed 320 million VND to build electric lighting lines, flag lines, and flower lines.

In May 2024, Nghia Son commune was one of the units voted by the Nghe An Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council to be recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards.

Coming to Nghia Lac, traveling on the open, clean inter-commune road, many people are surprised by the changes of this countryside. From a commune with a high rate of poor households, low per capita income, the main road connecting the commune center to the district has not been paved... with the support of all levels, sectors and the joint efforts of the people, the new rural appearance of Nghia Lac has improved, the dusty and muddy roads of the past have been replaced by asphalt and concrete roads leading to each household. The hamlet cultural house has been newly built and expanded with full investment in synchronous institutions; the concrete canal system extends across the fields... This result is a great encouragement for a commune with over 97.8% ethnic minorities.

In the new rural construction movement, despite many difficulties, the people of the commune have actively contributed nearly 6 billion VND, more than 15,000 working days, and donated more than 95,000m²land, more than 2,000m of fence, 30 solid gates and many other valuable trees and crops for building public works, making rural roads...

Comrade Hoang Van Nguyen - Head of the People's Mobilization Block of Nghia Lac commune shared: "Land is a valuable asset, but thanks to the mobilization of the Party Committee, the commune and hamlet organizations, many households did not hesitate to donate hundreds of square meters of land, remove fences, gates, and trees of high economic value to join the local government in expanding the road. My family set an example, donating 108m²residential land, 87.4m²agricultural land and 297m²land for perennial crops to open roads...”.

Typically in Nghia Lac commune, there is also the family of Mr. Le Van Muoi in Mon hamlet, who voluntarily donated 138 m²residential land, self-relocating kiosk 60m wide², 57.2m long gate and wall to build new countryside.

Donating land to expand the road will make it easier for the village and commune to develop the economy and society, including the family's own interests. The children's work and school are now more spacious and airy. I am very happy because of my family's contribution to making the village more spacious."

To improve the criteria for new rural construction, along with traffic and irrigation works, the movement to contribute to building cultural houses, cultural institutions, sports fields, lighting systems, flower streets... is being enthusiastically implemented by local people in Nghia Dan.

The people of Phu Loc hamlet, Nghia Phu commune have been excited for the past few weeks as if it were a festival when everyone, every household contributed to build a sports field in the hamlet. The commune supported 7 tons of cement, the hamlet people contributed 12 million VND to buy sand and gravel; households participated with 58 working days to build a sports field with an area of ​​700 m². Now, every morning and afternoon, many people in the hamlet and commune come to the field to practice, this is also the place for the commune to organize friendly sports competitions between football teams of hamlets in the commune and neighboring communes...

Continue to improve new rural criteria

Identifying the work of building new rural areas is a continuous and long-term process. On that basis, determining appropriate steps according to the conditions and resources of the locality and the people is an important factor. Party committees, authorities, and organizations in Nghia Dan have joined in, both supporting and propagating, mobilizing, and calling for the joint efforts of cadres, party members, people, organizations, and businesses in building new rural areas.

That combined strength has contributed to the fact that by early 2024, all communes in Nghia Dan have completed the criteria for new rural construction and two communes have met the criteria for advanced new rural areas (Nghia Binh and Nghia Son). Currently, Nghia Dan is determined to concentrate resources to complete the criteria for new rural districts according to the goals set out in the Resolution of the 29th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

Nghia Binh Commune is the first unit in Nghia Dan to achieve the advanced new rural criteria (2022). With many suitable methods and consensus among the people, Nghia Binh Commune has mobilized 78.7 billion VND to complete the advanced rural criteria, in which, people contributed and self-invested in building, renovating houses, and building rural roads worth more than 68.3 billion VND. The economic development emulation movement has been implemented by all households in the commune. Up to now, the average income per capita in the commune has reached 48.4 million VND/person/year, and the number of poor households has decreased to 1.42%.

During the implementation process, the hamlets have promoted the spirit of solidarity and strived to contribute from each family. Comrade Nguyen Thi Thao - Head of the Mass Mobilization Team of Binh Hanh hamlet, Nghia Binh commune confided: "Thanks to the good work of propaganda and mobilization associated with the good implementation of the grassroots democracy regulations, the program of building advanced rural areas has received the support and consensus of the people, upgrading rural roads, renovating hamlet cultural houses, building flower roads, roads, increasing production and economic development, helping each other reduce poverty, building cultural families... Not stopping there, the cadres and people of Binh Hanh hamlet and other hamlets of Nghia Binh commune are making efforts and continuing to join hands to build a model new rural commune in the coming time.

Up to now, Nghia Dan district has mobilized resources of more than 14,000 billion VND to build new rural areas, of which the people have contributed nearly 500 billion VND and donated more than 600 thousand square meters of land, contributing more than 350,000 working days. On that basis, the entire district political system is actively mobilizing all resources, determined to complete all criteria for building a new rural district by 2025.

Nghia Dan district also continues to promote the implementation of the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program, coordinates to build a system of display points, introduces OCOP products and typical products. Up to now, Nghia Dan district has 27 OCOP products with 3 stars or more. All levels and sectors in Nghia Dan also actively implement the Project "Improving the effectiveness of investment attraction in Nghia Dan district in the period of 2021-2025 and the following years" of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, promptly handling difficulties and problems of investors to soon implement projects, promote practical efficiency, promote socio-economic development, contribute to the construction of new rural districts according to the set goals.

To successfully achieve the above objectives, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has assigned specific responsibilities to all comrades in the District Party Executive Committee and specialized departments at the district level to closely monitor the progress of each task. Reality shows that, big or small, difficult or favorable, must mobilize the consensus and joint efforts of local people.

The main goal of building new rural communes and districts is to improve people's lives. Therefore, all programs and projects, especially public works, are being implemented in Nghia Dan district in a timely manner, ensuring long-term quality, serving the people in socio-economic development. At the same time, the district promotes activities to support farmers in developing production, raising livestock, and increasing income. During the implementation process, the Party committees, authorities, and organizations in Nghia Dan always determine that everything must follow the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit".
