The first flight from Russia has arrived in Phu Quoc
The first international flight KAR 2531 of IKAR Airlines from (Russia) carrying 290 Russian tourists landed at Phu Quoc International Airport at 8:20 a.m. on February 14. This is the first flight of Russian tourists directly to Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang Province.
Phu Quoc International Airport and the District People's Committee held a warm welcome at the airport with the participation of Mr. Pham Quy Tieu - Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms. Maria Mizonova - Consul - Counselor of the Russian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee, Phu Quoc District and departments in the province.

This is the first international flight to Phu Quoc, part of the cooperation program between Pegas Tourist Group and Anh Duong Company to bring Russian tourists to Phu Quoc pearl island.
After this flight, Pegas Tourist and Anh Duong Company will operate 1 flight per week from Russia to Phu Quoc and will gradually increase the number of flights when Phu Quoc meets the demand for accommodation and competitive prices for tourism services in the near future.
Ms. Maria Mizonova - Consul-Counselor, Consulate General of Russia in Ho Chi Minh City said that opening a direct flight from Russia to Phu Quoc will further promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.
After completing the first phase of construction and putting it into operation on December 15, 2012, Vietnam Airports Corporation coordinated with local authorities and related units to promote the opening of international flights to Phu Quoc International Airport. Accordingly, Phu Quoc International Airport, together with its partners Pegas Tourist Company (Türkiye) and Anh Duong Tourism Company (Ho Chi Minh City), successfully organized a direct flight from Russia to Phu Quoc.
This is an important event, marking a new development step in the international integration process of Phu Quoc International Airport in particular and Phu Quoc island district in general. Initially, Pegas Tourist Company and Anh Duong Company will operate 1 flight per week from Russia to Phu Quoc, using Boeing 757 aircraft (about 250 seats).
