“After receiving information that a tropical depression in the East Sea was likely to form a storm and make landfall, our ship quickly returned to shore, even though we had caught a lot of seafood at that time. When we returned to shore, traders had gathered to buy seafood, prices were stable, so the income from this voyage was considered the highest of the year, and the crew was very excited.”

At the fishing port, fishermen urgently transported each tray of seafood from the boat to shore for sale to traders. According to fishermen, despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the purchase price remains stable. Specifically, grade 1 tuna is currently priced at 60,000 VND/kg; silver pomfret is 40,000 - 50,000 VND/kg. As for exported hairtail, due to limited consumption due to the epidemic, the purchase price at this time is 80,000 VND/kg (down from 50,000 - 70,000 VND/kg compared to previous years).
According to the fishermen, most of the boats had a good seafood season this time, bringing in an income of 300 - 500 million VND; some boats had a big catch of valuable fish and squid, so their revenue was much higher.

In September 2021, people caught 6,700 tons of seafood at sea, with a cumulative total of more than 55,400 tons in the first 9 months of the year. This October, with signs of a good seafood season, the output is expected to increase further.
To ensure epidemic prevention, after fishing boats return to shore to sell seafood, functional forces and authorities of coastal communes in Quynh Luu district strengthen inspections, remind fishermen and traders to comply with epidemic prevention regulations, wear masks in crowded places and ensure that purchasing takes place quickly, without causing congestion at fishing ports./.
