On the afternoon of March 31, dozens of fishing boats of fishermen in Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) happily docked at Lach Quen port with their holds full of seafood. Notably, fishing boat numbered NA 97688 TS67 of fisherman Ho Ba Dung hit a catch of hairtail fish worth over 300 million VND.
Currently, exported needlefish is purchased by traders at the wharf for 150,000 VND/kg.

Mr. Ho Ba Dung said that the newly built ship was built according to Decree 67 of the Government, with a total investment capital of over 13 billion VND. Of which, the bank lent over 7 billion VND, the rest was counterpart capital from the fishermen.
This was the first offshore departure, thanks to the large ship with modern maritime equipment such as GPS, transceiver, Icom radio... plus favorable weather, after 5 days at sea, Mr. Dung's ship caught 20 tons of seafood, mainly hairtail fish and fresh squid, these are export products so they have quite high value.

In addition to catching hairtail fish for export, fishermen in the communes of Quynh Nghia, Tien Thuy, Quynh Thuan... also catch many seafood products with high economic value such as squid, pomfret, silver pomfret, anchovy...
After transporting seafood to the wharf, local establishments come to purchase it for processing or transport it to many places for consumption. Taking advantage of the time when fishing grounds are rich in fish, many ships continue to transport ice and refuel to go offshore for exploitation.
