Bonus sharing in Vietnam team: Looking at the behavior of Mr. Park Hang-seo
(Baonghean.vn) - For Vietnamese football, sometimes distributing bonuses is as difficult as winning medals, and every time it leaves a bad reputation. A member of the team commented: If everyone behaved like Mr. Park Hang-seo, there would never be any problems.
Everything was in chaos when Duc Giang Chemical Company asked Mr. Mai Duc Chung, the head coach, to provide the amount of money the women's team members received as bonuses before handing over the 500 million VND that the company promised to reward them..

zigzag path
Then Mr. Chung cleverly refused, public opinion spoke up and the representative of Duc Giang Chemical Company later brought the money to the VFF headquarters but no one received it. VFF informed that they asked the benefactors to transfer the money to the Federation so that they could give it to the teams to divide themselves, but the truth was not exactly like that.
Because, after that, the Federation assigned the personal account of Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hanh (specialist of the National Teams Department) to take care of receiving bonuses for the women's team. How many VFF departments and the Federation's accounts were "forgotten" and not used for what reason, those who are knowledgeable about finance will not have a hard time finding the answer.
Because she was “thanked to the account”, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hanh, although not on the list of the Vietnamese women’s team at the 30th SEA Games, was still awarded type A (ranked 2nd out of 4 bonus levels). Therefore, although she did not “sweat and even bleed” on the field, Ms. Hanh still received a bonus of nearly a billion VND, equal to 2 players and more than 8 players. Absurd!
If she had been given the opportunity to propose, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hanh would not have dared to accept this amount, but it was "agreed upon by the women's team". The fact that Ms. Hanh was allowed to sign to receive that amount of money would make many people happy (?!!) and since the previous 2019 Southeast Asian Championship in August in Chonburi (Thailand), the tournament in which the Vietnamese women's team won, there have been similar stories.
There have been obvious lessons in using personal accounts to take care of collective matters. In 2012, there was a terrible incident where the Head of the Sepak Takraw Department, Nguyen Xuan Hanh, suddenly took 1.5 billion VND of the bonus money from the Sepak Takraw Women's Team and then... disappeared. Of course, the management officials who knew about the incident could only keep quiet and avoid letting the information leak out.
However, apart from those complications, there is a rather unusual story: Head of the delegation Pham Thanh Hung, who is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ha Giang Gold Mineral Coal Mining Company, Head of the VFF Women's Football Department and President of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Women's Club, for the first time played the role of Head of the delegation, only giving without receiving. Mr. Hung announced a bonus of 1.5 billion VND for the women's team before the tournament and for each winning match, the Quang Ninh-born boss would take out an additional bonus of 500 million VND.
Park Hang-seo's personality

Not only is he good at his profession, but the way he treats people has earned the respect of his students and colleagues. Photo: VFF. |
Remember the closing ceremony and medal awarding ceremony of the 30th SEA Games. Because the number of members of our men's football team was more than the 30 gold medals as required by the Organizing Committee, Mr. Park... hid and gave way to other members.
During the flag-raising ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Vice President of VFF just found and gave it to Mr. Park but the TV cameras still saw no medal around the Korean coach's neck. It turned out that Mr. Park went to find and give it to assistant number 2 Kim Han- Yoon.
At the 2020 AFC U23 Championship, when the Vietnam U23 team lost, without saying much, he took full responsibility. He wanted public opinion to be more tolerant of the mistakes of goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung and his students. People saw his heart for football, and his students saw him as the father of a large family.
The character of a person like Mr. Park is very respectable, not only for sports officials. He has overcome the material things of life, when reaching the peak of glory, he gives way to others. But when the team fails, he steps forward bravely to take responsibility.
Not only is he good at his profession, but the way he treats people has earned the respect of his students and colleagues.
