The untold story of the song that touched the hearts of Vietnamese people during the days of the collapse of the Soviet Union
(Baonghean.vn) - Few people know that the song "Faith in Me" was written in a very special situation, although until now, many people have considered this song as their own feelings, the deep feelings from the bottom of their hearts reserved for the most sacred, noble, and unchanging things in the midst of many events.
There are many songs about the Party, written in many musical genres, but the song "Faith in Me" still creates a very special position.
The author of the song “Faith in Me” - artist Linh Nga Nie Kdam - musician, writer, researcher of Central Highlands folk culture, an outstanding son known as “the great bird of the Central Highlands”, said the song was written in 1991.
The circumstances of the composition were very special - right at the time of a world-shaking event: the collapse of the Soviet Union and the countries in the Eastern European socialist bloc.
Artist Linh Nga Nie Kdam said that when the Communist Party of the Soviet Union lost its leadership role, all of her family members who were adults were party members.
When the Soviet Union and the Eastern European socialist countries collapsed, many people were shaken and worried, but the members of the artist Linh Nga Nie Kdam's family - a party member family with a typical revolutionary tradition in the Central Highlands - still reminded each other to be steadfast and to maintain their steadfast faith. Because that faith was formed right from the beginning when the members of her family believed in the Party, were enlightened and trained by the Party, and together with the people of the Central Highlands rebuilt their lives, made history, and created "The Country Stands Up" - like the name of a literary work written about the Central Highlands.

The song talks about a belief that never fades, that belief is immortal, eternal, both close and sacred, like a folk song, like a mother's lullaby, like the fire burning in his heart, in my heart... And those profound things are messages conveyed very naturally like what a father says to his child, a brother says to his sister...
Listening to the song, people think a lot about the kind of love that transcends space and time, overcomes storms and events, to create inner strength, creating a source of intense life energy in every heart of a Vietnamese child, as well as the fire that transmits warmth in every Central Highlands home, like a persistent stream that permeates and overflows endlessly in the heart of the great forest.
Faith in me
When father told his son about the Party
A belief shines in the eyes
When father told his son about the Party
Shining a boundless faith in times of storm and calm
The Party is still with us
The Party keeps us full of faith.
When he told me about the Party
Is to find a belief in the truth
When he told me about the Party
Is to have a vast faith
Like the homeland of Vietnam
Sweet in our souls
Is a folk song mother lullaby
Burning in our hearts the red flame
In our hearts there is an unfading belief
The Party is the belief for you and me.
The Party is a song for you and me
Burning in our hearts the red flame
Brighten in our hearts a belief
Does not fade
The Party is the belief for you and me.
The Party is a song for you and me.
Linh Nga Nie Kdam
Linh Nga Nie Kdam said the idea and lyrics of the work "Faith in Me" came very naturally, as a recording of the artist's feelings at that time, family members reminding each other to stand firm, to be steadfast with the power of faith.
Musician Linh Nga Nie Kdam is the daughter of Doctor, People's Teacher Y Ngong Nie Kdam, one of the outstanding children of the Central Highlands. He was a National Assembly Delegate (continuously from the 1st to the 9th term), Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, founder and former Principal of the Central Highlands University. To date, there are at least 4 schools in the Central Highlands named after him. Her family at that time had about 7 party members.
Listen to the song "Faith in Me", composed by Linh Nga Nie Kdam, sung by People's Artist Ymoan Knul, the clip went viral and was loved by many people on social networks:
Artist Linh Nga Nie Kdam recounted that in the last days of artist Y Moan Knul’s life (in 2010), comrade Tong Thi Phong visited artist Y Moan Knul on a business trip. When hearing the great singer Y Moan pour her heart out to sing the song “Faith in Me”, those present that day saw comrade Tong Thi Phong discreetly wiping away tears many times.
The special thing is that in the "lifetime" Album, the first and also the last DVD that People's Artist Y Moan left for the world named "The Fire of the Central Highlands" has 14 songs, he chose and included the song "Faith in Me". That is also very special, it is YMoan's love and trust in everyone, in life.
Listening to YMoan sing "Faith in Me" by Linh Nga Nie Kdam, I appreciate even more the talent, personality, character, and courage of great artists in life. In the face of many changes of the times, the belief in the path taken and chosen never changes.
