What happens in the White House?
The resignation of US national security adviser Michael Flynn after admitting he lied to Vice President Mike Pence about the content of his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the US is a serious national security matter.

It is serious not only for Mr. Flynn personally or any other figures related to that "content", but also for US national security itself.
Such a communication - exchange and concealment incident, if it happened in any country, would be considered an espionage case and would be punished.
Usually, spies are at most mid-level, rarely high-level, but this time the suspicion is related to the position of US national security advisor.
The unimaginable ironically happened to current President Donald Trump's national security adviser Michael Flynn.
In the case of Mr. Flynn, up to this moment, according to the press, the direct superior to whom he had to report and falsely reported was Vice President Mike Pence and Mr. Pence expressed his dissatisfaction. However, there was another direct superior of advisor Flynn, Mr. Trump.
Did Mr. Flynn only report and misreport to Vice President Pence? Did Mr. Flynn also report to President Trump?
If so, did Mr. Flynn report truthfully or falsely to Mr. Trump, how many times did he report, how did he report each time, what was true, what was false?...
This incident can be compared to the case of national security adviser Henry Kissinger's contact with Beijing in 1971.
Was Mr. Kissinger's contact with Beijing through Pakistan his own initiative, or was it discussed with President Nixon and approved?
News from 1971-1972 shows that Mr. Kissinger acted under orders from President Nixon, not on his own initiative...
These few simple questions are enough to show that the scale of the Michael Flynn problem is not just a White House infighting.
Security Advisor Flynn chaired the National Security Council for only 23 days, but he managed to carry out a crucial reform in this central agency: for the first time in the history of this agency in charge of strategic security and defense, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) are no longer allowed to attend meetings of the National Security Council!
What more can the US military "fight" when the two key figures above are banned from the Situation Room?
Who will assess the situation with security advisor Flynn, or is advisor Flynn (and his ilk) the only voice? After being criticized, Mr. Trump later added that “they will be summoned when relevant”!
At this point, the question arises: Is it okay for advisor Flynn to be “all alone” like this? And of course, for national security, the issue of the national security advisor must be resolved!
