Experts predict when US hypersonic weapons may appear
To create a hypersonic missile, the US needs to solve the problem with the engine, which will take several years. Oleg Glazunov, an expert at the Association of Military Political Scientists, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, has outlined the possible timeline for the appearance of the Pentagon's hypersonic weapons.
“They recently bought engines for their rockets from us. The first rocket technologies appeared in the 1950s, for 70 years they have not been able to create a full-fledged rocket engine. Do you want them to create such a complete engine in 5 years? Testing alone will take 3 years. No, that is impossible,” said Oleg Glazunov.

According to Oleg Glazunov, the US's process of creating hypersonic weapons is hindered by anti-Russian restrictive measures they have introduced in the high-tech sector.
Meanwhile, the US cannot find suitable components from other manufacturers, Russian experts assert.
“They always buy our engines. Who can do that? England, France and Germany cannot build such engines. These are completely different technologies. Science cannot develop in a revolutionary way, that once you start producing rockets, it has to move in an evolutionary direction. They do not have the scientific basis and the scientists who can do this,” concluded analyst Oleg Glazunov.
The Pentagon has conducted an unsuccessful test of a hypersonic missile prototype in Hawaii. The US military said problems arose after launch.
