"The alliance is increasing its activities, mainly against Russia," Chennyk explained.
According to the Editor-in-Chief of the Military History Magazine “Military Crimea”, the US “is hiding its participation, assigning the function of political-military cover to the navies of third-tier countries in terms of military power”.
Mr Chennyk also noted that NATO's joint exercises with Ukraine are "political support for the upcoming vote in the second round of the presidential election".
Earlier, it became known that the joint Ukrainian-NATO exercise “Sea Shield” had begun in the Black Sea.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that NATO member states had agreed on measures to support Ukraine and Georgia in the Black Sea. Specifically, they would conduct exercises, exchange information and ensure access to warships at ports in the region. According to him, the measures taken would help improve NATO's understanding of the situation in the Black Sea.
“14 Romanian warships and six warships from Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, the Netherlands and Türkiye, with the participation of 2,200 soldiers, will carry out joint military missions in the Black Sea region,” NATO said in a statement.
