Russian expert comments on scenario when world rejects nuclear weapons
(Baonghean.vn) - According to researcher Dmitry Stefanovich at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, completely abandoning nuclear weapons will not save the world from wars, but will create new threats due to the lack of nuclear deterrence.

"Eliminating such weapons will save us from a nuclear apocalypse, but will not save us from war. Non-nuclear weapons are also capable of causing massive destruction. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that a world without nuclear weapons would be more dangerous," expert Stefanovich said.
The Russian scientist noted that the devastation in Syria, Libya and Iraq confirms the thesis about the destructive potential of conventional weapons, although the use of these weapons does not cause as high "moral" damage as the use of nuclear weapons.
“If you decide to go against a nuclear power, there is always the possibility that things will end badly for both sides. With non-nuclear weapons, there is no such fear,” expert Stefanovich concluded./.
