Russian expert writes open letter of apology to Vietnam.

Ms. Evghenhia Galovnhia, a former university lecturer in the Soviet Union, has responded to journalist Tran Dang Tuan's open letter regarding the slanderous and distorted article about Vietnam by political commentator Dmitry Kosyrev published online by RIA Novosti.

The article, published by RIA Novosti, distorts history and slanders Vietnam.

In her letter, she wrote: “The sincerity and pain in your letter made me reflect on my own perspective… Sadly, every nation and every generation has its people – chameleons who change color to adapt to the circumstances that are most convenient for them at that moment. What benefits Kosyrev's current living circumstances bring him, what motives drive him – those are not worth considering,” she said.

According to Ms. Galovnhia, a journalist, Mr. Kosyrev is "short-sighted and uneducated, being dependent and lacking integrity."

She wrote: “He lacks the significant journalistic stature necessary to reflect the opinions of the Russian people… As a member of Russia, I am ashamed before my Vietnamese friends – who, because of the publication of Kosyrev’s article in one of Russia’s leading newspapers, have some doubts about the sincerity and kindness in our relationship.”

I believe many of my compatriots share this sentiment, and they, like me, are making a request: Please don't judge Russia and the Russian people based on articles that—whose authors are unknown even in Russia. Excuse me!

The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association also sent a letter protesting this distorted article.
