(Baonghean.vn) - Experts at the Eurasia Group Analysis Center commented that the recent statements of French President Emmanuel Macron are related to his concerns about three factors. One of them is that the West is moving towards a disastrous failure.
According to Ria Novosti, expert Mujtaba Rahman at the Eurasia Group Analytical Center, French President Emmanuel Macron's recent statements are driven by anxiety or fear of three things: the front lines in Ukraine may change; US support for Ukraine will end if Donald Trump is re-elected in November 2024; and the West is heading for a disastrous defeat.
According to analyst Rahman, the French leader is trying to draw European countries' attention to regional security, and force them to rely more on internal strength.
Analyst Rahman said that President Macron is particularly concerned about German Chancellor Olaf Scholz - who is not ready to lead Germany into a "new era" without security protection from the US.
Previously, on March 21, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma (Lower House) Piotr Tolstoy told French television station BFM that France should think carefully before sending troops to Ukraine, because this move could lead to dire consequences - "it will end with coffins covered with the French tricolor flag".
"We don't care about President Macron's statements. We don't care about Macron himself, or what he says about the line. We will take down all French soldiers who set foot on Ukrainian territory. One by one," said Russian Duma Deputy Speaker Piotr Tolstoy.
