CIA analyst explains why President Zelensky is desperate
(Baonghean.vn) - CIA analysts believe that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is increasingly desperate as he witnesses the failure of his country's Armed Forces.

Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson expressed his opinion in an interview that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's comments in the Western media, aimed at influencing public opinion, are telling of the dire situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“These are simply signs of growing desperation. This conflict is going very badly. All the great hopes they had for a counterattack against Russia have exploded before their eyes. And it’s not just President Zelensky who is suffering,” said analyst Larry Johnson.
According to expert Johnson, many American and European military strategists were wrong to believe in the possibility of a successful Ukrainian counterattack.
“This was a historic mistake. A serious miscalculation. Poor analysis,” said Johnson.
Earlier, in an interview with the Economist, President Zelensky said that the best way to convince Western governments that they are “on the right side” is only by “going through the media”.
In an interview with CBS on September 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “It is a difficult situation. I will be completely honest with you… The counterattack is not happening very quickly.”
According to the Ukrainian leader, the conflict between the two countries has now turned into an artillery duel, in which each side has fired 40,000 shells per day.
