According to military expert Sean Bell, the West has provided a "huge amount" of weapons to Ukraine, but that has not helped the Kiev government.

According to TASS news agency, Sean Bell - a military analyst for the British television channel Sky News recently said that Ukraine will not have an interest in prolonging the conflict. "In a war of attrition, Russia is the bigger side and will eventually win," he said.

According to this analyst, the West has supplied a "huge amount" of weapons to Ukraine, but that has not helped the government in Kiev.

The issue of territories in resolving the conflict will not be a top concern for the administration of President-elect Donald Trump, while it is important to European leaders, said expert Bell.

According to the analyst, the future owner of the White House could start talks on easing sanctions against Russia as part of efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.

He said that as the Russian military was making progress in Donbass, Mr. Trump would have to take steps to encourage the Russian leadership to start negotiations.

“If Trump truly believes he can end this conflict, he has to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin,” Bell said. “So Putin needs to feel motivated to do so.”

“With him now on the front lines with the upper hand, why would he need to do that?” the analyst continued.

However, Mr. Trump could also choose to “threaten to increase military support for Ukraine,” said expert Bell.
