"The B61-12 bomb was created by the US for tactical purposes. For the most part, this bomb can be dangerous only for third world countries. Countries with normal air defense systems can shoot it down. The B61-12 does not pose a threat to Russia. It is designed to receive additional US military funding and financial reports to voters. It is business, a show," Sudakov told Sputnik.
He noted that the United States has adopted a policy of modernizing its military-technical potential and plans to equip its military bases around the world with B61-12 bombs. According to Professor Sudakov, this bomb has become smaller and more mobile.
The B61-12 aircraft bomb needs to be compatible with the platform of the 5th generation multi-role fighter F-35 Lightning II. The first batch of B61-12 is expected to be equipped with the military in 2020.
