Expert: President Trump likely to apply North Korea strategy to Iran
(Baonghean.vn) - Just a few months ago, US President Donald Trump threatened to unleash “fire and fury” on North Korea in a series of aggressive tweets. Now, the US leader is turning his anger on another potential nuclear adversary: Iran.
In his latest tweet on July 23, President Trump directly attacked his Iranian counterpart.

Specifically, Mr. Trump declared: “To Iranian President Rouhani: Never, ever threaten the United States again, or you will suffer consequences the likes of which history has never seen before.
America will no longer be a country that tolerates your hysterical rhetoric of violence and death. Be careful!”
Mr. Peter Jennings, Director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, commented that Mr. Trump's tweet aimed at Iran seemed "an unexpected thought. I think many of Mr. Trump's tweets are made while watching TV programs.
He must have watched on Fox and Friends where Iranian President Rouhani commented on the possibility of conflict if the US tightens sanctions.”
According to Mr. Jennings, President Trump is likely to apply the North Korea strategy to Iran.
“He probably thought this would have the same impact as some of his previous tweets aimed at ‘Little Rocketman’ – a reference to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un,” the expert said.
He thinks his fiery rhetoric on the Korean Peninsula led to the US-North Korea summit in Singapore." Notably, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was the first to "stab the knife."

“Don’t play with the lion’s tail, it will only lead to regret,” Mr. Rouhani warned. “America must understand that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, war with Iran is the mother of all wars.”
Middle East analyst Rodger Shanahan of the Lowy Institute in Sydney, Australia, said that Mr. Rouhani's tough statements are directly related to the chaotic economic situation in Iran.
Mr. Shanahan commented: “The US is putting significant economic pressure on Iran, because President Trump always believes that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a bad deal”./.
