Rare story: Employee sues boss for paying salary but not letting him work
A French employee sued his boss and demanded compensation of up to 360,000 euros (more than 10 billion VND) because he was paid for doing nothing.
Desnard, 44, worked for Interparfums from 2010 to 2014. After being fired for about 18 months, he turned against his boss, claiming that what he called a “stupid” job had severely affected his health and emotional well-being.
"Before he was fired, he suffered from severe depression and had a traffic accident due to an epileptic seizure while driving. He fell into a coma and had to take a leave of absence for a while. In addition, Desnard was embarrassed by being paid for doing nothing," said Desnard's lawyer, Montasser Charni.

Desnard said he was paid 3,500 euros a month for doing nothing related to his job. His official job title was “general manager of services,” but his boss called him “boy” and often ordered him around to do personal things for him, like taking his children to school.
When he wanted to fire him, the boss just told him to take a break and come back when he called, but he never called back.
According to Desnard's lawyer, he was "played like a puppet" and it was a form of harassment.
"We deny all these allegations," said Cyril Levy-Pey, the company's communications director. "Desnard has never been called 'boy' or any other derogatory name."
