At school, the children are divided into different classes, including those with motor disabilities, those with mental retardation, etc. In order for the children to acquire knowledge and skills in the subjects, the teachers at the center must devote more than 100% of their enthusiasm and affection. Most of the children when they first enter the center are illiterate, and cannot even take care of themselves, but gradually, they are equipped with knowledge about culture, music, painting and vocational orientation. Teaching a profession to disabled students is more difficult than to normal students. For normal students, it only takes 3 months, but for disabled students, it takes years to master the profession. However, the teachers here are not discouraged, but are more determined to teach the students so that when they graduate, they can support themselves. Photo: Duc Anh |

Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, is approaching. Students in special classes are practicing performances to celebrate. Every year, the November 20 celebration at the center is a very special day. The National Anthem and many performances by the blind and deaf children are hand-written songs that make teachers unable to hold back their tears. "At this special school, sign language is the main language. Everything at school takes place silently, quietly, sometimes the children have to sing with their hands, but here is always filled with love, sharing and sacrifice. We are always proud to be the kind fathers and mothers of hundreds of special children," a teacher at the center confided. Photo: Duc Anh |
