Little known story about 'The 100kg girl'

Talking about the famous "Contemporary People" column of Vietnam Television, I remember the time I was a guest on this program.

Although I have been interviewed and "interviewed" many times, I have never encountered such tricky and surprising questions as when sitting in the hot seat of the program "Contemporary People".

Even when Ta Bich Loan showed me a picture drawn by a reader of me “walking through walls”, it took me a few awkward minutes to understand what he meant! I wouldn’t dare admit that I was such a reckless person…

The sharp, intelligent questions, along with the picture with many profound implications of MC Ta Bich Loan at that time, made me somewhat uncomfortable.

But later, whenever I think back, I see that journalist Ta Bich Loan really knows how to attract audiences, knows how to exploit the depth of people and events, and takes great care to arrange a truly engaging television program.

And I have had feelings for Ta Bich Loan since then.

Many people in the press community call MC Ta Bich Loan “The One-Tonne Girl”. A journalist even used this nickname to headline an article about Ta Bich Loan.

I asked the author of the article: Why is Ta Bich Loan so petite and pretty called "The One-Tail Girl"? The author of the article said: Because first of all, Bich Loan's last name is Ta.

But more importantly, Ta Bich Loan's TV shows all have the weight of... "tons"!

So that's how it is.

Ta Bich Loan was very shy about talking about herself. I said: You have interviewed a lot of people, now you have to let them interview you again?

The story revolves around little-known facts about “The One-hundred-pound Girl”. Ta Bich Loan said that her father, Mr. Ta Van Ton (an economic engineer, studied at a university in the Soviet Union, and was a lecturer at the University of Science and Technology for many years) taught his children very strictly.

Every time my dad “invited” me to sit down and talk, my heart would pound with fear. What my dad hates the most is “arrogance.”

“He set many goals for me to strive for, including the goal of winning a gold medal in the Russian Language Olympiad.

My father said that if I won gold, he would treat the whole family to chicken. Chicken was rare back then, so it was a big reward. That year, I won gold in the Russian Olympics.

But my parents couldn't buy chicken, so the whole family could only treat themselves to goose meat," journalist Ta Bich Loan confided.

Previously, during the years of working together in the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association (Ta Bich Loan was a member of the Executive Committee for two consecutive terms) and the times I participated in TV shows hosted by Ta Bich Loan, I knew her to be an intelligent, sharp, professional journalist who takes her profession very seriously and is devoted to journalism.

But through this conversation, I also realized the innocence, sincerity, sophistication and wit of this famous MC.

I also learned that Ta Bich Loan has two children, Khuat Ly Na (born in 1992) and Khuat Minh Hoang (born in 2009). When I asked Ta Bich Loan why she named her daughter Ly Na even though her husband is 100% Vietnamese?

Ta Bich Loan said Ly Na was born in a dormitory of the former Soviet Union in the last year when Ta Bich Loan was a graduate student there. Loan and her husband named their daughter Linh, but everyone kept calling her Ly Na.

When making the birth certificate, Ta Bich Loan decided to name her daughter Ly Na as a memory of the land of Bach Duong. Her daughter Ly Nam was a good student, intelligent and had artistic talent since high school...

However, when asked about her two children, "The One-hundred-pound Girl" was very modest and did not want to say much: "Perhaps I was also influenced by my parents in raising and educating my children; also setting goals for my children to strive for and excel.

Although I know that it puts some pressure on my child. But I think, at each stage of human life, if there is a good goal to aim for, it will increase people's determination...

Set goals for your children, but you also have to create all the conditions for them to be able to achieve those goals....".

Ta Bich Loan believes that circumstances, social environment, and family education greatly influence children's personalities.

Although they were raised by the same parents, their children have different personalities. The daughter of Ta Bich Loan and her husband is introverted, while the son is extroverted. Parents, if they understand their children's personalities, will find it easier to communicate with them.

Knowing that her daughter has a straightforward and upright personality, Ta Bich Loan is both happy and worried...

Ta Bich Loan said that once her daughter went to school by bus and saw the bus conductor behaving very badly, she wrote a letter to the factory director, and the bus conductor was disciplined.

Through that time, Ta Bich Loan and her husband understood their daughter better in her way of life, her behavior was very proper and straightforward, but life is unpredictable, not always following one's will, even the best ideas.

The time Ta Bich Loan discovered her daughter's love of theater was a French drama program at L'expace.

Ly Na plays a madman in the work of famous playwright Molière. She delights the audience with her perfect transformation into the character.

“Children's strengths and passions sometimes do not coincide with their parents' wishes, but we still have to respect their future career choices,” Ta Bich Loan told me.

“Film directing is a very hard job... This hard work is even more difficult for female directors...

So when my daughter Ly Na chose this career, I honestly didn't want it, but because I know her personality and how passionate she is, my husband and I respected her decision...

Then Ly Na informed me that she would choose the topic of Cinema about the Vietnam War for her master's thesis in France. I was very happy...

I suddenly remembered the times I took my children to visit the B52 Victory Museum in Hanoi, the times the whole family visited the Vietnam Revolution Museum, and the TV shows that recalled the heroic history of the nation.

Using real life to educate your children seems like just theory, but in fact it has very clear practical effects... I'm happy that my daughter has matured a lot through such practical lessons..." Ta Bich Loan confided.

Journalist Ta Bich Loan was born in 1968 in Yen Mo, Ninh Binh, graduated from university and graduate school at Lomonosov University (Russian Federation).

Ta Bich Loan has set a record for hot, elaborate, touching TV shows, creating strong vibrations in programs such as "Road to Olympia"; "Seven colors of the rainbow"; "Contemporary people"; "Contemporary stories"...

Currently, journalist Ta Bich Loan is the Chief Editor of VTV6, Vietnam Television Station.

Being in charge of an editorial board of programs for young people, from the playground of young people, to educate and orient young people to develop properly is certainly the goal of Vietnam Television.

When I asked Ta Bich Loan how work and raising children affect each other? Ta Bich Loan said they complement each other. From teaching your children, understanding your children gives you more basis to understand young people and vice versa.
