More than a month and a half after the historic storm, support activities for the people of Nghia Hanh continue to be implemented, and the joy of recovery continues to spread.

On November 15th, Tuoi Than Tien Kindergarten (Hai Phong) provided 400 gift packages for students, along with many practical items such as 3 65-inch TVs, tables and chairs, toys, and gifts for teachers, students, and disadvantaged people. Prior to that, the Phuoc Hue Pagoda charity group (Ho Chi Minh City) visited the area and donated 100 gift packages (worth 1 million VND each); the Tuy Duyen Vegetarian Meal Charity Group (Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) collaborated with the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund to donate 220 gift packages, each worth 500,000 VND, to families with disadvantaged children at Phu Son Kindergarten, Nghia Hanh Commune…

These are stories about the people's blood donation movement, the self-disciplined and well-behaved children in Hung Hoa hamlet, the "zero-cost" kitchens, and the hamlet leaders who prioritize public affairs over personal matters… The person behind these posts is Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Dan, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Nghia Hanh commune. Ms. Dan shared: “I want to record all the stories I have witnessed, the emotions I have experienced, so that everyone can learn about Nghia Hanh, love and support this land.”

Thanks to the dedication of Nghia Hanh commune officials in communication work, interaction and followers of the page have increased significantly. The provincial electronic portal also acknowledged and praised the touching news articles and images that the locality has preserved. Furthermore, each commune member, each citizen, and each relief worker actively shared and spread the posts, helping to diversify support resources and enabling people to quickly recover and stabilize their lives.

Having learned about Nghia Hanh through social media and directly accompanying the people and officials of Nghia Hanh commune during difficult times, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh - Head of Communications Department of Cong Ly Newspaper shared: “I have never been to a place as special as this. The dedication, closeness to the people, understanding, and support of the local government are not only demonstrated in relief efforts but are also amplified into a driving force for rebuilding the homeland. Even while recovering from the storms and floods, Nghia Hanh has made a historic mark: Hung Hoa hamlet became the first hamlet in Nghe An province to achieve 100% resident participation.health insurance.

This achievement is the result of a vigorous campaign, stemming from an understanding of the barriers at the grassroots level. Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Dan, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Nghia Hanh commune, shared about the biggest challenge: "Most people in the commune are farmers, and farmers usually feel healthy, so they never use their health insurance cards. Previously, health insurance was subsidized for disadvantaged areas, so when encouraged to buy it, most people felt it was too expensive and waited until they got sick to buy it."

To address this psychological bottleneck, the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Hanh commune worked with the Tan Ky local Social Insurance agency and decided to select Hung Hoa hamlet as a pilot area to replicate throughout the commune, fulfilling the targets of the commune Party Committee's Resolution for the 2025-2030 term. Immediately after the meeting, the People's Committee of Nghia Hanh commune organized a launching ceremony and established a working group to implement the model of a 100% health insurance-covered hamlet in Hung Hoa hamlet.

The campaign was implemented systematically, humanely, and with high organizational efficiency. From the outset, the principle of exemplary leadership by cadres and Party members was established, with 100% of cadres voluntarily participating in health insurance and actively encouraging their relatives to do so. To ensure transparency and effectiveness, the commune publicly released the list of households that had not yet participated in health insurance, and assigned specific targets to each neighborhood group and each organization responsible for mobilization.

"After nearly a month of implementation, the results are very encouraging, with 123 people successfully enrolled in family health insurance. Three cases with particularly difficult circumstances have received support from benefactors and annual contribution funds mobilized by the local health insurance agency staff," said Mr. Ngo Xuan Hung, head of Hung Hoa hamlet.

Accompanying Nghia Hanh from the early days of achieving its goals, Mr. Cao Cu Huy - Director of the Tan Ky branch of the Social Insurance agency - said: “The achievements of Hung Hoa are not just a number, but a miracle. Reaching 100% health insurance coverage is extraordinary for Nghia Hanh - a commune still facing many difficulties. During the process of achieving this goal, the locality also suffered from natural disasters, storms, and floods. But in the end, Nghia Hanh succeeded. I believe that the golden key is the tireless dedication and people-oriented spirit of the commune, village, and hamlet officials. Inspired by the efforts in Hung Hoa hamlet, other hamlets were also motivated to register and participate, creating a meaningful emulation movement throughout the commune.
