Flare story in V.League: Do it, suffer the consequences
(Baonghean.vn) - The VFF Disciplinary Board has just decided to punish those involved in the flare incident during the match between Hanoi FC and Hai Phong FC at Hang Day Stadium in the 6th round.
The VFF Disciplinary Board's penalty is as follows: Hang Day Stadium's Organizing Committee and Hanoi Club were fined 70 million VND and had to play on an empty field in round 7. Hai Phong Club also had to pay a fine of 70 million VND for the above incident.
Obviously, the Hang Day Stadium Organizing Committee, Hanoi FC and Hai Phong FC must receive the above penalty, which is completely correct. However, the VFF Disciplinary Committee's ban on Hanoi FC from playing on an empty field in round 7 (against Ho Chi Minh City FC) is unfair to the capital's football fans.

Objectively speaking, the cheering of the Hanoi FC Supporters Club in the match against Hai Phong FC in round 6 was appropriate and very civilized. In contrast to what the fans from the port city did at Hang Day Stadium. However, the true football fans of Hanoi FC received unfair punishment from the VFF Disciplinary Board.
Sharing the same opinion with coach Chu Dinh Nghiem, Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hoi said: “The penalty of not allowing fans to come to the stadium affects the motivation and excitement of the players. This will be a disadvantage for the true fans of Hanoi FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC. I think we need the cooperation of all parties to end this situation in the future.”

It is true that “the mandarin does, the mandarin bears the consequences”, the fans of Hanoi FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC who did not commit any mistakes had to watch their teams play on TV, while the “culprits” were the fans of Hai Phong FC who were “safe and sound”. Simply put, Hai Phong FC did not have a fan club (disbanded in 2009), so the VFF Disciplinary Committee was “helpless”.
It is time for VFF to implement the plan proposed by Hai Phong Football Federation Chairman Dan Duc Hiep: "The Hai Phong tournament organizers, as well as the National Championship organizers, should study the plan to install security cameras in the stands, increase the security force to monitor the matches and resolutely handle (even prosecute) spectators and fans who intentionally violate and disturb public order before, during and after each football match."
Only then can the right person be punished for the right crime, avoiding the current situation of "doing the deed and suffering the consequences"./.
