Anteo Edizioni Publishing House in Reggio Emilia, Italy has just released the work "Ho Chi Minh and letters wishing for peace for Vietnam".

According to VNA, this is the result of the first translation project into Italian from the original Vietnamese version of the same name, with the co-editing of Ms. Sandra Scagliotti, a researcher on Vietnam, and Mr. Tran Doan Trang, an overseas Vietnamese in Italy.

The process of developing ideas and implementing the project took place at the Center for Vietnamese Studies in the city of Torino, a place that the Vietnamese community here respectfully considers as the "capital of Vietnam in Italy" due to the convergence of diverse research activities on the country and culture of Vietnam over the past decades.

Previously, in May 2020, the National Political Publishing House Truth published the original Vietnamese version by Dr. Nguyen Anh Minh, collecting and selecting letters of President Ho Chi Minh written from 1945 to 1969 during the resistance war against French colonialism and American imperialism.

The letters were sent by the Vietnamese revolutionary leader to the French and American Presidents as well as to many individuals who were politicians, soldiers, prisoners, immigrants, youth, and relatives of soldiers. In them, he always expressed his wish for peace and happiness for all peoples; exposed and condemned the war crimes of aggression committed by French colonialists and American imperialists; and called on the people of the world to support the just struggle of the Vietnamese people.

Translator Sandra Scagliotti said that the messages in President Ho Chi Minh's letters left a deep impression on the thoughts and feelings of many generations of young people in Europe in the 60s and 70s of the last century. To this day, for Italians who support peace and progress, Vietnam is still a "legend" and truly a role model for peoples in the struggle against forms of domination and oppression in the world.

Ms. Sandra Scagliotti expressed her emotion and pride in contributing to the completion of the project with the coordination of many colleagues in Italy and Vietnam, in order to fully convey the meaning of the messages and the "solemnity and dignity" in each letter of President Ho Chi Minh to friends and readers in Italy.
