Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Cambodia: Handshakes imbued with neighborly affection
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Cambodia not only contributes to strengthening the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries but also demonstrates Vietnam's strong support for Cambodia.
During his official visit to Cambodia, on the afternoon of November 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of the Cambodian Senate Say Chhum, President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin, and greeted Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.
Meeting with President of the Cambodian Senate Say Chhum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy at his first official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia and witnessing with his own eyes the dynamic development of the "land of pagodas".
The Prime Minister expressed his belief that Cambodia will continue to achieve many new successes in national construction and development as well as constantly improve its position in the region and on the international arena.

Cambodian Senate President Say Chhum was pleased to meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh again, assessing that this important visit of the Prime Minister not only contributes to strengthening the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries but also demonstrates Vietnam's strong support for Cambodia in its role as ASEAN Chair 2022.
Recalling the good memories of the very successful official visit to Vietnam in October 2022, Senate President Say Chhum highly appreciated the great achievements Vietnam has achieved in recent times.
He expressed his belief that Vietnam will continue to develop more and more prosperously, achieving the goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045.
The two leaders were delighted with the positive development of the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship in recent years; especially the two sides have had many meaningful activities in the "Vietnam - Cambodia, Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Year 2022" to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations...
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that the Cambodian Senate will continue to support the further strengthening of the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries; care for and support people of Vietnamese origin to live and work stably, and integrate well into the host society; and create a legal corridor for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and do business conveniently and long-term in Cambodia, for the practical benefits of the people of the two countries.
Meeting with President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin, the Vietnamese Prime Minister expressed his pleasure to meet again with President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin after his very successful official visit to Vietnam last September.
The Prime Minister wished Cambodia and National Assembly President Heng Samrin success in hosting the upcoming 43rd AIPA General Assembly in Phnom Penh.

Discussing bilateral cooperation, the two leaders agreed on the need to continue efforts to deepen the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia for the benefit of the two peoples.
National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrin welcomed the results of the previous talks between the two Prime Ministers and the signing of 11 cooperation documents on this occasion.
He highly appreciated the cooperation between the two governments of Vietnam and Cambodia in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education and training, culture, health, etc., and especially in the work of demarcating and planting border markers on land.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister hopes that the Cambodian National Assembly and President Heng Samrin will continue to support the promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries commensurate with their potential and good relations, and promote their supervisory role to ensure the effective implementation of agreements signed between the two governments.

Paying respects to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace of Cambodia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed: The leaders and people of Vietnam always appreciate the deep affection and valuable support and assistance that the late King Norodom Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni, and generations of Cambodian leaders and people have given to Vietnam.
The Prime Minister hopes that the King, in his noble position, will continue to support and foster the good relationship and cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, he will continue to care for and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia to live, do business stably, and integrate into the local community.
Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his appreciation for the good sentiments that high-ranking Vietnamese leaders have for Cambodia, as well as the valuable support and assistance given to the Cambodian people in overthrowing the genocidal regime in the past and in the cause of national construction and development today.
Also at the Royal Palace, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh greeted Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. The Prime Minister respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to the Queen Mother on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late King Norodom Sihanouk.
