From 2014 until their arrest, the subjects had illegally profited over 135 million VND. At the same time, the investigation agency also seized tens of thousands of fake foreign language and IT certificates and degrees of all kinds.

On January 6, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Court sentenced 10 people to 174 months in prison and 36 months of suspended imprisonment for the crime of "Forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations", each person was sentenced to an average of 18-21 months in prison and required an additional fine of 5 million VND.

According to the indictment, through social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, etc., the above subjects created a network to fake seals and documents of agencies and organizations to sell to those in need. Gia Lai Provincial Police caught Bui Thi My Phuong (27 years old) and her husband Dinh Thanh Lam (30 years old, both residing in Chu Prong District, Gia Lai Province) selling fake English certificates to customers at a coffee shop in February 2016.

Through that, the ringleader was identified as Hoang Duc Huan (31 years old, specialist of the internal affairs department of Dan Phuong district - residing in Lien Trung commune, Dan Phuong district, Hanoi) and his accomplices.

After 2 days of trial, the first instance panel sentenced Hoang Duc Huan to 2 years and 6 months in prison; three defendants Trinh Van Chung (28 years old), Le Quang Phat (26 years old), Le Quang Lam (29 years old, all residing in Hanoi) to 3 years in prison; four other defendants including Trinh Van Nam (27 years old, residing in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi), Vo Nguyen Xuan Dan (45 years old, residing in Tan Chau town, An Giang), Pham Thi Hong An (23 years old, residing in Cau Giay district, Hanoi), Bui Thi My Phuong (27 years old, residing in Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province) to 18 months in prison and the two remaining defendants Nguyen Quoc Huong (41 years old, residing in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak) and Dinh Thanh Lam (30 years old, residing in Chu Prong district, Gia Lai) to 18 months in prison suspended.

Regarding the case, the investigation agency also identified 360 subjects who bought fake certificates and diplomas from the defendants; thereby, confiscating more than 270 fake certificates and diplomas and sent documents to localities and competent authorities to handle these subjects separately.
