CIENCO4 - affirming sustainable brand

In the early 60s of the 20th century, when the country was temporarily divided, the Transport sector was assigned a heavy task by the Party and the State: Ensuring the main roads, creating a smooth traffic artery to support the large front line in the South. The Ministry of Transport signed Decision 1477 QD/TL to establish the Department of Construction, under the Ministry of Transport, which is the predecessor of CIENCO4 Group today.

In June 1965, the Construction Department was transferred from Hanoi to Nghe An, renamed Construction Department I. During the fierce war years, tens of thousands of cadres, workers, and Youth Volunteers of Construction Department I were continuously present on all transportation fronts of the fire line of Zone IV, especially the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri, opening vital routes to support human and material resources for the southern battlefield.

Entering the period of national construction and innovation, the Department of Construction continued to have many new steps to suit the tasks of each historical period with many different names. In December 1995, it was renamed the Traffic Construction Corporation 4; in August 2007, the Corporation operated under the parent company - subsidiary model; in June 2010, the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 became a one-member limited liability company; in June 2014, the Corporation officially operated under the joint stock company model, renamed the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 - JSC (CIENCO4); in April 2017, the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 - JSC converted into a Group model, abbreviated as CIENCO4 Group.

With the strategy of investing in human resources, innovating in equipment, actively applying new and modern advanced technology in construction, it has created a strong brand and development of CIENCO4. Therefore, many large and technically complex projects, thanks to new equipment and technology, have been effectively implemented, such as: Et-tra-doc technology for the construction of mixed cable girder bridges at An Dong Bridge (Ninh Thuan); sliding formwork technology - MSS, applied for the first time in Vietnam at Thanh Tri Bridge (Hanoi); construction of nearly 100m high bridge piers at Pa Uon Bridge, Phuoc Khanh cable-stayed bridge with a height of nearly 140m above the water surface, the highest bridge pier in Vietnam to date; 3D reinforced concrete arch bridge technology with the largest span in Vietnam at Co Co Bridge, Da Nang City.

A major historical turning point for CIENCO4 in the period 2010 - 2015 was that, after 50 years of attachment to Nghe An, a land of deep affection, in early 2013, CIENCO4 officially returned to the capital Hanoi - where the Construction Department was established - the predecessor of today's CIENCO4 Group. In the period from 2010 - 2015, aiming for the goals of stability, sustainability and long-term development, CIENCO4 continuously implemented measures to innovate management organization and business activities.

Implementing the policy of the Party, Government, and Ministry of Transport on equitization of state-owned corporations, CIENCO4 is the pioneer unit in the industry to complete the equitization of enterprises. After equitization, the unit continues to invest heavily, building CIENCO4 to become a leading enterprise in the field of transport infrastructure, with the ability to compete domestically and internationally.

Entering a new phase, in order to affirm its position, promptly meet the needs of brand development and build CIENCO4's image in the domestic, regional and international markets, CIENCO4 has started using a new logo and brand identity since November 2014 and has been deployed synchronously within the Group, thus creating a new pride and belief in the phase with a multi-industry, multi-field and integrated development scale.

CIENCO 4 identified globalization as an inevitable trend, so it has proactively and flexibly grasped and applied the state's new economic policies to effectively implement international integration, proactively forming joint ventures with foreign contractors to carry out major projects, including Sumitomo Mitsui Corporation, Japan. At the same time, CIENCO 4 signed a number of cooperation agreements with foreign partners to send qualified staff, engineers, and workers to foreign countries for advanced training, as well as to exchange experiences in management and operation, and technology to realize the Group's long-term development goals.

These partners will provide corporate financial consulting services, help find financial sources for projects and directly support investment capital for projects invested by CIENCO4.

In addition to production and business tasks, the Group also always pays attention to building a synchronous and consistent political, Party, professional and mass organization system; affirming that the leadership role of the head is extremely important, creating solidarity, unity, democracy and collective intelligence as the strength of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the Group, the Trade Union, and the Youth Union have promoted exemplary pioneering, daring to think, daring to do, actively and effectively participating in emulation movements in labor production and unit building.
