Two coaches were disciplined and banned from coaching for reacting to the referee

Both Binh Duong coach and player were expelled from V-League 2018.

The Vietnam Football Federation Disciplinary Board has just issued disciplinary decisions for violations of regulations in round 5 of V.League 2018. According to Decision No. 134, 135/QD-LĐBĐVN, Coach Tran Minh Chien of Becamex Binh Duong and language assistant Nguyen Ngoc Linh were fined 5,000,000 (five million VND) and suspended from duty for the next two matches due to their behavior reacting to the referee in the match between Becamex Binh Duong and FLC Thanh Hoa football clubs in the 5th round, on April 15, 2018 at Binh Duong Stadium, Binh Duong province.

Also in round 5, in the match against Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa coach Vo Dinh Tan was also stripped of his coaching rights for his reaction. He said the referee had added too much extra time compared to the actual time. Mr. Tan was also banned from coaching two matches and fined 5 million VND.

Vietnam is the seed for the 2020 AFC U23 qualifiers

In the 2020 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) divided the 46 participating teams into two regions: West Asia and East Asia.

With the achievement of reaching the final of the tournament in 2018, Vietnam was chosen as the seed of the East Asia region, along with four names: South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and North Korea.

The 2020 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will take place from March 16 to 26, 2019. The finals will take place from January 8 to 26, 2020. There are currently seven countries that have won the right to host the finals, including Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Lebanon.

According to the announcement from AFC, the top three teams of the 2020 AFC U23 Championship will qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics along with the host team Japan. If Japan is one of the top three teams, the remaining Asian spot will go to the fourth-placed team.

Also according to AFC, the 16 teams that pass the qualifying round will be drawn into four groups to participate in the final round.

Than.QN welcomes the return of Eydison

After a few weeks on the sidelines due to a torn muscle injury, striker Eydison has almost fully recovered and can play in the match against Nam Dinh in round 6. This is considered very good news for coach Phan Thanh Hung at the moment, because the Brazilian striker is showing quick integration and showing extremely high performance since moving to Than.QN at the beginning of the season.

It was this striker who scored two important goals that brought two victories to the team from the mining land against SHB.DN and Saigon FC. And thanks to that brilliant performance, Eydison was recently voted the best player of March V.League 2018.

Due to the absence of this number one striker, Than.QN recently suffered two consecutive defeats in the National Cup against HAGL and Sanna.KH in round 5 of V.League 2018. Currently, coach Phan Thanh Hung's team has 10 points, temporarily ranked 2nd on the rankings after 5 rounds.

Vietnam women's team gathers one month before AFF Cup

Unlike the annual practice, VFF only gathers the team one month before the tournament. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will gather in June. After participating in the AFF Cup, the Vietnamese women's team will continue to train to prepare for the 18th ASIAD, taking place in August. At the 2018 AFF Cup, Vietnam is in the same group with Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. At the recently concluded Asian Cup finals, Vietnam did not play well and lost all 3 matches.

According to Lao Dong, talking about the issue of perfecting the list of candidates for the position of President of VFF term VIII, a leader of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training said that VIPs like Mr. Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of Hoa Phat Group cannot be invited just by invitation.

This leader shared the difficulty of VFF in finding a President: "Like Mr. Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of Hoa Phat Group, he is a very worthy person and if he becomes Chairman of VFF, he will be very convincing. However, a person like Mr. Long cannot be invited. With his position, it is not enough to invite him just for the sake of it, the problem is that VFF needs to have a plan and how to do it...".
