'Miss Saigon' makes Korean women want to try Vietnamese ao dai

'Bringing bells to strike foreign lands' at the 22nd Busan Film Festival, Co Ba Sai Gon received many compliments after its first premiere on the evening of October 14.

The film crew of "Co Ba Sai Gon" led by producer and actress Ngo Thanh Van, along with the director duo Tran Buu Loc - Kay Nguyen, and the main cast of the film including Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Diem My 9X, and Oanh Kieu arrived in Busan quite early.

They arrived early to prepare for the first international screening of "Co Ba Sai Gon" on the afternoon of October 14, within the framework of the Busan International Film Festival taking place in Busan, South Korea from October 12 to 21.

This year, "Co Ba Sai Gon" is introduced in the A window on Asian cinema category along with 55 outstanding films from other countries with issues of contemporary culture, history and society.

The film's premiere on the afternoon of October 14 attracted nearly 1,000 viewers, most of whom gave glowing compliments to the "emotional, fashionable, and gorgeous" film honoring the Vietnamese ao dai from the "Co Ba Sai Gon" crew: beautiful, pleasing to the eye, and carrying a clear meaning of preserving culture.

Although "Co Ba Sai Gon" has not officially been released in Vietnam, we can see good signs from this film, from the way it was chosen, the way it was built, to its smooth debut at the Busan International Film Festival.

According to those in the industry, the interesting thing about "Co Ba Sai Gon" is that it not only clings to old nostalgia, but also integrates stories of the present and the past through fashion - an approach that appeals to the curious tastes of viewers.

"Co Ba Sai Gon" will officially premiere domestically on November 10.
