That is the sad situation of Ha Thi Truong Yen.(born 2007), Thanh ethnic group in hamlet 13 - Dong Can, Nghia Trung commune (Nghia Dan, Nghe An).

Without a father, my only support is my elderly grandparents, who are poor ethnic minority households with special difficulties, so life is extremely deprived.

Yen's mother, Ha Thi Ngo, had a congenital leg defect, so she had to do odd jobs around the house since she was a child. Loving her child, her grandparents arranged for her to build a house on the land next door. Being a single mother, after having a child, her grandparents and uncle built a temporary thatched house for the mother and child to live in. Due to lack of income, the house gradually deteriorated. Also due to her weak constitution and frequent illness, Yen was only able to enter first grade at the age of 8.

In 2015, I saw the single mother situation of her and her child.hard, The Commune Fatherland Front Committee proposed and received support from the district of 50 million VND, relatives contributed more, and built a level 4 house worth about 60 million VND.Every day, mother and daughter, although poor, have a roof over their heads and support each other day and night.

However, misfortune struck shortly after moving into the new house when Ha Thi Ngo discovered she had terminal liver cancer and passed away not long after. Yen was left alone and could only cry and then fell ill for several months and had to miss school continuously. With the care of her grandparents and the encouragement of her homeroom teacher, she regained her health and continued to go to school.

Mr. Luc Van Thu - Party cell secretary of hamlet 13 Dong Can said: after Yen's mother passed away, the hamlet and commune made a dossier for the orphan subsidy regime for her which is still pending review, so currently Yen has no support regime, she has to rely entirely on her grandparents.However, because my grandparents were old, had no income and were one of the especially poor households in the commune, life was very difficult.

When asked about her dream, Yen confided: I like summer vacation, but going to school is more fun because I have friends. My dream now is to have a new bike to go to school, because my bike is too old and often breaks down.

My grandfather, Ha Van Ty, sadly shared: Every time I look at my grandson, my heart aches, but I have to hide my tears and try to comfort him, because now we are his only spiritual support. Now that we still have some health, we try to encourage him to go to school and go to whatever grade he can.
