(Baonghean.vn) - After much anticipation from the audience, on the night of July 1st, the final round of the "Future Idol" competition was broadcast on HTV7, and Quynh Nhu, a young girl from the rice-growing region, proudly won third prize.

The final night of "Future Idol" featured four contestants from three regions of the country: Pham Linh Phuong (Hai Phong), Ha Quynh Nhu (Nghe An), Nguyen Le Hien Tran (Can Tho), and Duong Nghi Dinh (Long An). The youngest contestant was Nghi Dinh (7 years old), and the oldest was Quynh Nhu (13 years old).

The final round consisted of two parts: the main competition and the bonus round. Unlike the previous rounds, the judges scored directly in this round. Quynh Nhu entered the final round not feeling very well, as she was ill. However, the two songs she performed, "Ha Tinh, My Homeland" and "Homeland's Words," received much praise from the judges.

With her simple, down-to-earth performances throughout the competition, People's Artist Thu Hien commented: "This is surely an image, a representation of a person from Nghe An province."

After two rounds of competition, Quynh Nhu had a score of 31. The final round concluded with Hien Tran winning first place, Nghi Dinh winning second place, and Quynh Nhu and Linh Phuong sharing third place. Each contestant received a commemorative trophy and a cash prize ranging from 50 to 300 million VND.

The bright and talented girl from Yen Thanh, a rice-growing region, shared: “I am very happy to have won third prize in the ‘Future Idol’ competition. Through the competition, I learned many things and made many friends from all over the country. I will try harder in my studies and singing to repay everyone’s trust and love.”

Ms. Tran Thi Huong, Nhu's mother, recounted: After the semi-finals, she and her daughter went to Hanoi for about a week so Nhu could further improve her vocal technique in preparation for the final round. For Nhu, unlike previous occasions, she was accompanied by her parents during the final two competitions. However, on the very first rehearsal, Nhu fell ill and only managed to practice once. That night, fans brought herbal steam baths to her accommodation so Nhu could recover from her cold, fearing she wouldn't be able to participate in the finals.

Ms. Huong excitedly said: “I'm so happy that my child made it to the finals and won third prize. I hope that from this competition and the award she has won, she will strive to practice and learn more, to sing better, and to let her voice soar further. Thank you to the artists who taught her, and to HTV7 for creating a healthy and beneficial playground for the children to participate in.”

Having accompanied her daughter to the competition since the beginning of 2017, with around 20 flights round trip, traveling between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Ms. Huong has always been by her daughter's side. She and her husband have put aside their farming to support their daughter's passion.

On the "Future Idol" stage, with her gentle, expressive, and captivating voice, and her renditions of traditional folk songs, Quynh Nhu gradually gained the attention and affection of the audience. From her first song, "Come Back to Ha Tinh, My Dear," to her last, "Homeland's Words," this young girl with a distinctly Central Vietnamese style truly left a deep impression on everyone.

Perhaps because of that affection, and empathy for the hardworking mother from the countryside, many fans in the South traveled all the way to Ms. Huong's home in Yen Thanh to learn about her and her daughter's situation and offer help. Some gave electric bicycles, others donated televisions, and some sponsored trips... After her daughter's competition, it seems that many things in Ms. Huong's family have changed.

Ms. Huong "revealed": Although the plane ticket was sponsored, the trip back to Nhu's hometown after the final night required a car because "there were so many gifts." Relatives, friends, and fans gave her so many gifts, all sorts of things from pots, basins, vases, potted plants... She couldn't refuse them, so she accepted everything "to please everyone," which is why she had to rent a car to transport everything back home.

After the final night, Quynh Nhu and her family took their first trip to Cua Lo beach. She immediately participated in a charity concert at the Nghe An Friendship General Hospital with People's Artist Hong Luu. It is also known that Nhu and her fellow contestants from "Future Idol" will soon have a reunion at the Lotus Festival in Yen Thanh.
