Poor family situation, husband disabled, wife has cancer
(Baonghean.vn) - Although she has a serious illness, Ms. Le Thi Loan still has to take care of her elderly father, disabled husband and two school-age children by herself.
Having known Dang Ba The since childhood, knowing that he was disabled but admiring his honest and gentle nature, Loan decided to marry him despite her family's objections. Life was difficult, but the result of their sincere love was two well-behaved sons.
However, in 2007, Mr. The had an accident, which made him paralyzed on one side of his body, making the burden on Ms. Loan's shoulders even heavier. The family only relied on a few acres of garden, a few acres of rice fields, and more than a dozen chickens. Ms. Loan had to work hard to make enough food and clothing for her family members.

But fate really knows how to tease people. Last year, Loan discovered that her body had strange symptoms such as frequent high fever, small lumps in her chest, difficulty breathing... At first, she thought she had a common illness, but the symptoms became more and more serious.
Feeling sorry for her situation, her neighbors donated money for her to go to K Hospital for testing. The doctors concluded that she had colon cancer and advised her to stay for treatment with surgery and radiotherapy. Her family's situation was already difficult, when she heard the bad news, she was even more shocked and devastated.
Thinking of her old father, husband and children who needed someone to support them, she tried to borrow money everywhere to undergo 12 radiation treatments, but her condition did not improve, while her debt continued to grow.

Now, Ms. Loan's cancer has spread to many parts of her body, and the pain of the disease torments her day and night. Ms. Loan said in tears: I know that my illness is difficult to overcome, but I still try to live optimistically so that my children can study with peace of mind. Fortunately, I have the attention of society, and because my family is poor, my children can go to school without paying tuition. However, they are too young to take care of themselves, not to mention their elderly father and paralyzed husband.
Ms. Le Thi Trinh, Vice President of the Anh Son District Red Cross Society, said: In the past, we have mobilized organizations and individuals to support, but the amount of money raised is only limited. Therefore, we hope that in the future, we will receive more support from individuals and organizations so that Ms. Loan can have more money for medical treatment and have the health to take care of her family.
