“At first, we intended to have a simple wedding, held in one place, inviting relatives from both sides to announce and introduce. However, my husband's parents did not agree.

My parents said that our wedding would be the same as Cuong's older siblings'. Even Cuong, the youngest son, needed to have a bigger wedding," Thu Sao shared.

According to Thu Sao, her husband's family is very understanding. When discussing the wedding, the husband's family sent someone to the bride's family to propose.

They said, if the bride's family has any requests regarding the engagement ceremony, dowry and wedding feast, let the groom's family know so they can take care of it. However, Ms. Thu Sao did not ask for much.

“I think that organizing the wedding too lavishly or requiring high-level ceremonies is just a formality. Focusing too much on formalities will lead to unnecessary expenses. Therefore, I told the groom’s family to take care of their own food.

The bride's family will be free to arrange the wedding feast. The groom's family will take care of the transportation for the wedding reception. However, the groom's family still prepared the engagement ceremony quite carefully. They ordered 5 engagement trays and hired 10 people to carry the trays. The engagement ceremony will be held on the same day as the wedding reception," said the 61-year-old bride.

This happy bride also said that her in-laws were very understanding. After discussing and agreeing on the wedding, her in-laws asked the couple for their opinions on how to prepare the wedding room.

I expressed my opinion of reusing the wedding bed of my husband's brother (who has now moved out), but my father-in-law did not agree. He went to order the bed himself and chose a good day to install it. After that, I also went to my husband's house to decorate the wedding room. My husband's house is a stilt house, so I had to cover it up, hang curtains, wedding flowers, etc.," Ms. Thu Sao shared.

During the process of decorating the wedding room, she was very touched by the attention of her husband's parents, relatives and brothers.

“My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and relatives actively strung beads and made flower strings for me. My father-in-law and my husband redid the electrical system. When the wedding room was completed, everyone praised my wedding room as a princess's room,” said the 61-year-old bride.

On her wedding day, Thu Sao plans to wear two dresses, a white bridal dress and a traditional Red Dao dress.

“The traditional dress was given to me by my mother-in-law. She said it was the dress she wore on her wedding day. So she wanted me to wear it too. However, I have not yet chosen the right time to wear this dress,” said Thu Sao.

The kitchen in the groom's house is also renewed by curtains.

In addition, Ms. Thu Sao also prepared a pair of pillows and a blanket to give to her parents-in-law.

“After the wedding, I will be able to stay in a beautiful honeymoon room with a new bed, wardrobe, and blankets, and my in-laws will also need a new pillow and blanket. So I have prepared this gift, just waiting for the wedding day to bring it to my parents,” the 61-year-old bride excitedly shared.

According to the bride, when she decided to marry a husband 35 years her junior, she faced a lot of malicious comments from the public. However, thanks to their sincere love and support from both families, the couple is ready to reach the shore of happiness.
