“The Khaisilk case of course shows signs of cover-up and support from authorities, including market management,” said a leader of the Market Management Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

A leader of the Market Management Department (Market Management Department), Ministry of Industry and Trade, was indignant: "The Khaisilk case of course has signs of cover-up and support from functional forces, including Market Management. A macro-management market management unit with such a weak force is unacceptable. It is impossible for a corporation that has been operating for decades to only discover 60 fake scarves during an inspection? The inspection force cannot just listen to the statements of the sales staff and record only that much in the minutes."

"Honestly, if I went alone, I would have discovered dozens of scarves, not just 60," the officer said indignantly.

According to this leader, just by checking the entire store system of Khaisilk Group, checking all bills of lading, declarations, product codes, purchase invoices, product origins... we will immediately detect fake and genuine goods of this Group and how long this activity has been going on.

Many people used to have faith in the Khaisilk brand.

This official recommended that the Minister of Industry and Trade resolutely direct the market management force to fulfill its responsibilities, powers, and obligations. It is impossible to let the situation of "the top says, the bottom doesn't listen" happen. It is impossible that the leaders of Khaisilk Group admitted to deceiving Vietnamese consumers while the market management force has not checked and discovered any violations of theirs for a long time.

'Are the lessons from the fraud cases of Thuan Phong fertilizer and VN Pharma still not enough to deter and warn the authorities?', this person wondered.

Previously, on October 28, the Hanoi Market Management Department reported to the Market Management Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade the results of the inspection of Khaisilk store at 113 Hang Gai (Hoan Kiem district).

According to the report, the store at 113 Hang Gai is owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nga, and has a Certificate of Business Registration for Individual Households issued by the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District. At the time of inspection, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nga admitted that the store specializes in selling silk products made in Vietnam. However, due to negligence in management, in response to the sudden increase in demand for goods on October 20, the store's staff arbitrarily purchased silk scarves on the market, cut off the original Made in China label, then sewed on the Khaisilk Made in Vietnam label to sell.

The total number of goods the facility purchased and relabeled was 60, 4 were sold, and 56 were left. The listed price of the product was 644,000 VND/piece, the total value of the infringing goods was more than 36 million VND.

On the sidelines of the National Assembly session on October 30, sharing about the situation of Khaisilk selling Chinese goods, National Assembly member Duong Trung Quoc felt "shocked" because he had faith in some brands, especially brands with traditional values, including Khaisilk.

National Assembly Deputy Duong Trung Quoc said that the Khaisilk store explained that the cause of the incident was that the store staff arbitrarily bought the product, then cut off the original "Made in China" label, then sewed on the "Khaisilk Made in Vietnam" label to sell to customers, which is no different than "blaming the typist".

According to Mr. Quoc, it must be viewed in an 'inverse proportion', meaning the bigger the brand, the bigger the mistake and the more severely it must be handled. "The owner is the one who must bear the highest responsibility," Mr. Quoc said.
