Japan proved they have the best fans at the World Cup by staying behind to clear the stands after their team's opening match victory.

Japan yesterday became the first Asian team to defeat a South American team, Colombia, at the World Cup. With a 2-1 victory, they avenged their defeat at the World Cup in Brazil four years ago, when they were crushed 4-1 by Colombia.
According toSun, fans from the land of the rising sun celebrated their team's achievement in their own way, which was to clean up the stands of Mordovia Stadium.
This action is similar to what they did at the 2014 World Cup. At that time, they brought bags of footballs to the match against Ivory Coast and even though they lost, they still stayed to clean the stadium.

It seems that the environmental consciousness of Japanese fans has inspired Senegalese fans. A video circulating online also shows them collecting trash left by fans after yesterday's match between Senegal and Poland.
FIFA posted the video on its Twitter page, hailing it as "the best action of the day".
"Senegal fans cleared their seats before leaving the stadium to celebrate their historic win over Poland," FIFA wrote.

Senegal became the first African team to win at the 2018 World Cup when they defeated Poland 2-1.
