Singer Ho Quynh Huong highly appreciated both the appearance and voice of contestant Truong Kieu Diem from Da Nang.

The second round of the X Factor competition took place on the evening of May 8 with nine contestants competing in the category of women under 25 years old. The organizers placed six chairs on stage for the contestants who were chosen by the judges to stay in the competition. The uniformity in appearance, voice, and personality made it difficult for the powerful quartet to decide who to keep and who to eliminate. |
The highlight of this episode was contestant Truong Kieu Diem from Da Nang. Kieu Diem brought to the show a song she composed called My Own Reason for Living. With her skillful guitar playing, the contestant from the Central region confidently completed the piece. Ho Quynh Huong expressed: "Has anyone told you that I have long legs and beauty like Ho Ngoc Ha but a voice like My Tam?". However, Thanh Lam said that this contestant should pay attention to the way she sings to have a more colorful performance. With four approvals from the judges, she was able to sit in the "hot" seat. |

Earlier in the program, Nhu Trang performed a composition by Vu Cat Tuong called You and You. In contrast to the feminine and gentle image in the reunion round, the contestant from Dong Thap broke new ground in her performance and brought a lively atmosphere. Ho Quynh Huong liked Nhu Trang's style and personality. Singer Thanh Lam thought that this performance was not very good but clean. As a result, Nhu Trang secured a chair for herself. |
Ho Thi Hien performed the song Wake Up by Tina Tinh. Due to illness, the contestant from the mountainous region sang incorrectly in some places, but she was judged to have conveyed her emotions in the song. With positive comments from the judges, she earned a seat for herself. |

Hoang Thi Quynh Huong brought a new breath to Toxic, a famous work by pop princess Britney Spears. Different from the original vibrant version, the female contestant performed the song in her own unique, mystical way. Musician Duong Khac Linh commented: "She sings English very well, the way she handles each sentence and note is soulful." After being challenged by Tung Duong to sing in Vietnamese, she finally got to sit in the safe seat. |
Since the six hot seats were already filled, the judges decided to invite contestant Tran Tra My to compete directly with Kha Linh by performing a part of the same song. At the end of the performance, with her high-pitched voice, Kha Linh convinced the powerful quartet, while Tra My said goodbye to the competition. |
Contestant Minh Nhu closed the second episode with the modern song Mama knows best by Jessie J. In this performance, not only did she show off her "huge" voice, the support of the dance troupe also helped her create the image of a versatile and highly entertaining artist. Ho Quynh Huong commented: "I admire your courage and maturity in style. The high, middle or low notes are easily held, you make the listener feel comfortable. You have passion in you and when I close my eyes, I feel your talent and artistry." |
Because the judges chose another contestant, Kha Linh and Hoang Thi Quynh Huong continued to "compete". After performing a short part of the song, the judges agreed to choose Kha Linh (right) to move on to the next round. Tung Duong expressed regret for Quynh Huong and advised Kha Linh to be more creative in her singing. |
The song Phai was chosen by contestant Tran Thi Mai to participate in the tough competition round. After much consideration, the judges said that Tran Thi Mai was not outstanding enough to stay in the program. Episode three of the competition round in the category of men under 25 years old will be broadcast on the evening of May 15 on VTV3. |
