Vietnamese girl confused by hundreds of questions from her Western boyfriend
It's hot outside, and I see older people lifting up their bellies to cool down. Nick Mansor wondered to his girlfriend: "If it's hot, why don't you take it off and instead wear your shirt and lift it up to show off your bare bellies?"...
After publicly dating her boyfriend Nick Mansor - a New Zealander in December 2016, actress Truong Phuong often mentioned this man when sharing about her private life.
According to Truong Phuong, despite having lived in Vietnam for many years, Nick Mansor is still not completely familiar with the customs, habits and habits of the Vietnamese people. Therefore, during their time together, there were many times when Nick Mansor put her in "half-crying, half-laughing" situations.

The first memory that Truong Phuong remembers was when they first fell in love. Phuong called her boyfriend to ask him to buy offerings and pray to the gods:
“Phuong’s family has a habit of buying offerings to the gods on the first day of the month. However, Phuong was busy that day. Phuong called him and asked him to buy cakes, fruits, incense, and pray to the local gods to help her.
He agreed immediately but said: "Let me take the cake you ate yesterday and put it up. There's still a lot left in the box you didn't finish." After that, he asked Phuong: "When I prayed, I said, 'I wish you all a delicious dinner, right?' It really scared me" - the actress laughed out loud when remembering the innocence of her Western boyfriend.
According to the actress, during his time living in Vietnam, Nick Mansor often felt troubled by Vietnamese habits.
“When he goes out on the street and sees people honking loudly and vehicles jostling each other, he always feels stressed. He said that in his country, only when there is a serious or dangerous incident do they use their horns. When participating in traffic, people are also very calm and behave well with each other.”
Adding to the problem of waste, Truong Phuong continued: "He always told Phuong: "Vietnam is a very beautiful country, why don't people take care of it and just litter in public places like that?"

Truong Phuong said that the difference in the way she addresses her boyfriend also makes her and her boyfriend feel awkward many times.
“In his country, there are only I and You, but there are so many titles in Vietnam that sometimes he gets confused.
When we first started dating, he once went to Phuong's mother's house to eat. When she served him food, he innocently said, "Thank you." Later, he realized he was wrong so he immediately said out loud, "Thank you, Mom."
Another time, he went to the supermarket with Phuong, suddenly an older woman kept looking at him and calling: "Backpacker, backpacker!". Immediately, he turned around and said: "No backpacker, suitcase." Because he knew backpacker is a general term for foreigners who come to Vietnam to save money.
Then Phuong turned around to explain to her. It turned out that she had just called him unconsciously without understanding the meaning of the name backpacker. Then she asked Phuong's boyfriend to help her get the box of noodles from up high. He happily helped. When she finished, she complimented him: Tay is so handsome, thank you.
Suddenly, he whispered: "If I don't help her today, I will probably become ugly," which made me laugh" - Truong Phuong said.
“Sometimes when I go out I see older men wearing shirts and lifting their bellies to cool down in hot weather. When I get home he teases me, lifting his shirt to imitate him, which makes me laugh a lot. He says: “If it’s hot, why don’t you take it off and just wear your shirt and lift it up to show off your bellies?”- Truong Phuong continues to talk about her boyfriend’s unfamiliarity with the habits of some Vietnamese people.
According to the actress, when they first started dating, Nick Mansor had no idea what March 8th or October 20th was. When his girlfriend explained it to him, he was very surprised.
The New Zealand guy said that in his country, every day is Women’s Day. Every day is a day to love and honor women, so you can give flowers or gifts to women at any time.
Because of that point of view and habit, the actress of "Who is missing?" shared that she is very happy because Nick Mansor always loves and respects his girlfriend.
“Once, Phuong and I went to meet some of his Vietnamese friends. It was quite late, everyone wanted to drink more so they asked him to stay. But he knew Phuong was tired so he told me to go home early.
Those friends teased: "Don't be afraid of Phuong, let Phuong go home first." He immediately said: "It's not that you're afraid of your wife, but you have to respect her. Only when your wife is happy will you be a successful man, your wife is number 1" - the actress born in 1987 recounted.
However, she also admitted that sometimes due to cultural differences, Nick Mansor sometimes said something wrong, causing her to have to explain to her friends to avoid misunderstandings. However, as time went on, he became more and more perfect, so Phuong's relatives and friends understood and loved him very much.
