BBCyesterday said the courtNewcastle Crown istrial of the murder case of victim Quyen Ngoc Nguyen, 29years old, last August. However, the two defendants areStephen Unwin, 40, and William McFall, 51, deny raping and murdering the Vietnamese girl.
Nguyen knew the two men because they worked for her landlord. The indictment said that on the evening of August 14, according to surveillance cameras, Nguyen went to Unwin's house inWearside, North East England. Evidence shows that she was held captive by him and McFall for more than four hours, raped and forced to reveal her bank card password.
Unwin then wrapped Nguyen,The person is only about 1.5 meters tall, tMcFall took a white sheet and carried it over her shoulder as she left the house. McFall also pulled the sheet down to cover her face to avoid security cameras at a neighbor's house.
The two men loaded the victim into her car and drove to a dark area, doused her and the car with gasoline and set it on fire. Forensic evidence suggested Nguyen was likely still alive when she was burned.
"They even took a selfie in the car. McFall held the phone and smiled as they drove away," cprosecutor Jamie Hill said.
A total of £1,000 (nearly $1,400) was withdrawn from Nguyen's two bank cards before and after her death.

Nguyen was unaware that the two men were plotting to harm her, the court heard, and had discussed their intentions via text messages and social media a week before the attack.
At trial, the defendants blamed each other. Unwin’s DNA was found on Nguyen’s body but he claimed they had consensual sex and had been together in the days before her death.
Nguyen, who has two children, came to Britain in 2010 and helped her sister run a nail salon. She brought one child with her to Britain and the other stayed in Vietnam.
According to prosecutor Hill, Nguyen was involved in helping illegal Vietnamese immigrants in the UK rent properties, some of which were used to grow cannabis.Unwin and McFall used to steal cannabis there to sell.
Authorities determined that the rape and murder of Nguyen by the two defendants were motivated by sexual and financial desires. The trial is expected to last four weeks and is still ongoing.
