(Baonghean) - Only 22 years old, just graduated from Hanoi Foreign Trade University but the achievements of Nguyen Thi My Linh, a girl born in Con Cuong district, are truly admirable. Not stopping there, My Linh wants to become a global citizen, set foot in many countries around the world and work in large companies. Linh is currently an intern at Wellness Link, a company specializing in health check-up software in Japan.

Born in Khe Choang village, Chau Khe commune (Con Cuong), My Linh was truly lucky to have her parents place high expectations on her. In 2003, Linh moved to Khe Bo village, Tam Quang commune (Tuong Duong), 15 km from home, to study grades 4-5 there. In 2005, Linh moved back to her parents' hometown in Yen Thanh to study grade 6 at Bach Lieu specialized school. In 2006, she went back to Vinh to study grade 7, and in 2009, she went to grade 10 at Phan Boi Chau specialized school.

Linh mentally calculated: “From the time I left my hometown until I graduated from high school, I studied in 5 different places. Therefore, for me, new lands are not a concern, but mostly interesting experiences waiting for me.”

After graduating from Phan Boi Chau High School, Linh became a student at Hanoi Foreign Trade University. This is also the place that created many changes and global aspirations for the girl from Nghe An.

In the first year, Linh signed up to join the school's English club, which often organizes English events to create a playground for young people passionate about English in Hanoi. After that, she continued to join the FBA Elite Student Association of the Faculty of Business Administration.

Not only has My Linh won many scholarships, she is also very “lucky” with professional competitions. This Nghe An girl won first prize at the Marketer Courage Competition for young people passionate about Marketing in 2014 and first prize at the Nielsen Case Competition organized by the world’s largest market research company Nielsen in 2015.

Having gained more confidence thanks to valuable experiences, Linh boldly applied for and passed the science scholarships of KEB Bank, ANZ Bank, JASSO Japan scholarship and Amcham American Chamber of Commerce scholarship.

When she saw the information about recruiting interns for Procter & Gamble, a leading multinational corporation in the world, My Linh continued to challenge herself. After 6 rounds of competition, she was lucky to be selected from nearly 2,500 candidates. My Linh said that during her 2-month internship at P&G, she was assigned a real project, researched and proposed business solutions for P&G. Thanks to that, Linh learned a lot about working methods, thinking methods, and necessary skills. And until now, those skills still help her overcome new challenges.

Asked about her future plans, My Linh shared: “My dream is to become a successful businesswoman to create many jobs, help people in my hometown in particular and throughout Vietnam in general. I also want to become a well-rounded person, a global citizen who travels everywhere in the world.”

Hiện Mỹ Linh đang dần hoàn thiện việc học Tiếng Nhật và hướng tới việc biết ít nhất 5 ngoại ngữ.
Currently, My Linh is gradually completing her Japanese studies and aiming to know at least 5 foreign languages.

Fluent in English and currently studying Japanese, My Linh's goal is to know at least 5 foreign languages, which is also the luggage My Linh brings with her to realize her dream of becoming a global citizen.

When talking about her own achievements, My Linh does not forget to mention the influence of her parents. “My parents are modern, open-minded parents who often talk frankly with their children. Unlike some parents who often impose on their children, such as having to go to this school, study this major… for me, those things are all decided by myself. Therefore, I had to learn how to “make my own decisions, act my own actions and take responsibility for myself” from a young age.”
